At our local Dollarama, I noticed they have some "tile flooring" – which appear to just be floppy plastic fake linoleum squares for a buck each. I thought these might be a really nice alternative to flooring…but then was hesitant because they are from the Dollar Store, and I have no idea what kind of materials have been used on them/in them, etc.

Has anyone used these or think against them or…?

This is basically what we have on the bottom of our bunny enclosure – peel’n’stick tiles. They do slide a wee bit on them but they haven’t tried picking at them or eating them. Mind you they can’t really get at the outter edges of them so that probably helps. We’ve had the enclosure set up like this for a while and it’s certainly much easier to clean!

I use something similiar for the floor of my bunny cage – however it is one big sheet of vinyl/lineloeum type material. I really loooove it when it comes to vacuuming because I’m used to having carpet on the bunny floor, and this is so much better! I do put carpet mats on top of the vinyl flooring however, and I take those out and shake them out then vacuum the linoleum, it works great for cleaning!

I saw the peel and stick tiles but I was concerned about the glue if they nibble at it.

Some bunnies can nibble at it and it’s best not to let them, mine leave them alone. Of course like any flooring, bunnies with take a nip or two at it to explore and generally leave it alone. I have peel & stick linoleum that I stuck to some masonite board for the flooring of the NIC condo. I tehn put whatever over it, I fold a berber fur piece of fabric around to secure, a carpet tile on or piece of remenant on it or tile.

Oh and FYI $1.00 for the tiles is similar to what you’ll pay for a better tile at your local hardware store (Home Depot, Lowes etc.). So I don’t think it is all that great of a deal really.

I use those – they were in a 3pk for $1. I stuck them to a $1 store shower curtain.  Pepper’s never nibbled on it.

Aha, well if they are 3 for a $1 that is a good deal, I was under the impression that it was $1 each which is not such a great deal.
