Ok so I walked this dog at an adoption event an totally fell in love! He is a long haired dachsund cocker spaniel mix named Cody. He is only three years old and very friendly. Every adoption event he draws so much attention, but he suffers from seizures and needs daily medication. From what I know he hasn’t had a permant home for a long time. So I posted on craigslist just to see if someone would be interested. Someone emailed back saying they were very interested and have a dog who suffers from seziures! She said she has been thinking about getting another dog for a while and decide to try and adopt one! I was so happy so of course I got her in contact with the person who runs the shelter so keep your fingers crossed! Below is a pic of Cody.

I know! Isn’t he adorable! It is so heart breaking that I can’t get him and that he has seiziures.

She’s adorable; she has the same name as my dog.

I hope she gets a good home.

Excellent! You may have found your talent! Writing bios and posting them in the interest of getting them adopted!!

You should talk to the shelter! I think its very excellent that you were able to find such a fantastic and FITTING home for the dog after the shelter wasn’t able to for so long. There is sooo much work for shelters (fundraising, organizing, office work, accounting, and looking after animals) its quite a burden to take pictures of the animals and think of something new and special to write about them, and new ways to reach potential homes. This could be your calling to help animals!

Alright. She hasn’t emailed me back, but I forwarded her email to the rescue’s boss, so I should her back in a bit. I hope this works out!

I think that is awesome, and agree that this could be a way you could help.  I know our local shelter is overwhelmed and always needs help photographing and writing up pets.  A while back they were able to get a professional photographer to donate some time to get really good photographs of some of their special needs buns and cats, and all were adopted within a month or so.  Maybe learn to do videos too?  And this kind of thing looks very good when you start applying for jobs or colleges because you will have real-world experience.

I’m very proud of you and I have my paws crossed for the little doggie!
