My mom told me I should put polysporin on Bindi’s incision because it looks a little infected. Is this safe for bunnies until I can call the vet in the a.m.?

Hi – I would call the vet first thing in the morning.

I would not put polysporin on the incision, since I looked around online and could not find any sites saying it was safe or recommended for incision wounds. I know things like triple antibiotic ointment and neosporin without lidacaine are ok, but am not sure about putting them on a surgical incision.

please let us know what the vet suggests when you call

I agree, definately give the vet a call to take a look at it. Since this is a surgical incision and if it is infected, you might need to run a course of oral antibiotics so it is really best if your vet takes a look at it.
