        Just thought I’d share this with the Californians here that the California Dept of Agriculture will not allow the shipment of fresh (unprocessed) products i.e. hay into California unless it has been sprayed with pesticides!!!  I found this out when I was ordering something from Farmer Dave!  I guess they don’t want little critters being brought into California.  This is the only state with this restriction. Interesting.

          Yep, and they still have ag inspection stations at the borders to inspect the out of state cars for plant products.  There have been some very expensive exotic pests introduced (the Med Fly was one, another that was more recent was the Glassy-winged sharpshooter), so I guess this is a way of keeping the farmers in business.
