so since christmas i’ve been re-organizing & schedule shifting around baby’s new and more adventurous habits. i built an nic rabbit condo for the living room with a litter in it so that i could enclose her with her litter in hopes of training her to use it instead of the poor dog. my first try was okay but i was splitting my nic panels between living rm & bedrm, so my design was limited.
i finally went out & found more panels and built a 3 level condo last night! it’s perrrfect & baby seems to like it just fine, although she’s not yet done exploring. the top level (or crow’s nest… thanks osprey) is just one floor square big & the front panel opens for cleaning…. the middle level (or prominade deck… thanks gravehearted, was it, who came up with that name?) is 4 floor squares big & the 2 front panels flip down for cleaning and to give baby access during supervised times. and lastly theres the base level (or poop deck
) which is 2 floor squares big for, of course, her litter & hay & water. i have 2 panels hinging like a bifold door to be able to pull the litter out for quick cleaning, and, most importantly, so that the door can angle in a way that prevents bogart from snorfing all her poopies. he gets enough of the stray ones to supplement his diet… lol. of course there is a ‘jump thru’ from this level to the middle level, so if i need to enclose baby she has full run of the condo.
