You know, that is a very good question because the stuff my two scoff at and tear out of the hay bin onto the floor I sweep into the litterbox as a topping and then it becomes the prime eats! Go figure.

Well some humans read the paper if they are on the throne for a while, so I guess if they are there for a while to pass the time they eat.

i believe that baby bun does this because she’squite a multi-tasker.  she has a lot of work to get done in the day, what, with all the cardboard renovations and magazine shredding.  not to mention that the dog must now be harrassed with-in an inch of his life.

It could be something as simple that they know that when they eat, they poop. So in order to keep their place clean, they’ll eat where they can poop.

I’ve always thought that it might have evolved to minimize the time a rabbit spends "outside" and therefore exposed and in danger.  Eat and poo at the same time and then back to someplace safe.

that makes sense.  maybe nature set them up for this so that eating is a bit of a laxative for their digestive system.  i mean… i know there system should always be moving, but maybe nibbling makes it ‘efficient’.  lol.

Am i the only one who loves nothing more than to sit on the loo whilst tucking into a roast dinner (urgh actually the very thought of that makes me gag!), as someone else mentioned about the man & books thing, I know men who ONLY go near a book when on the throne, any other time reading is a cursed word!!

Oh tell me about it! If you want the newspaper at my parents house you have to go to their washroom to retrieve it! I actually bought my dad a couple of those “bathroom reader’ books for the bathroom
