i’ve heard that it’s really good fertilizer but have never tried myself.  i know composted horse manure is great for gardens & since buns & horses eat pretty much the same stuff you’d think it’d be the same.  but then i’m *definitely* not a good gardener sooo… ?  what about if rabbit pee is mixed in?  would that be bad?  sorry… i’m asking more questions than answering   guess i’ll stay tuned too!

Rabbit droppings make excellent fertilizer.  Rabbit manure is one of the few manures that isn’t too "hot" to use directly on your plants.  Most other manures like cow, horse, chicken, etc. must be composted first, because they will burn your plants (and stink too!) if used fresh.  The pee soaked litter can be used too, but it may get an ammonia smell for a while until the nitrogen is broken down.  You can also compost everything that comes out of the buns litter box, including poops, pee soaked litter and uneaten hay.  I compost the used litter from mine, adding leaves to it as I fill up the bin.

Absolutely! Rabbit poop doesn’t need to be broken down in a compost and can go straight to the soil! I use it all the time with my garden and flowers, actually it turned around 2 plants in the front yard! Also I read that if you use saw dust or something like that in the litter box you can dump all of it since something i n the pee knocks out the bad stuff in th esawdust and the nitrogen is great for the plants. I don’t like using chemical fertilizers and this is a perfect solution.

I’ve heard its a great fertilizer, too and am planning on using it for planting in the spring.  I actually saw a guy on craigslist one time offering to buy rabbit manure!!  Hey, maybe there’s a market for it!  .  Who knows, we might be able to make some money off all the poo!  j/k

lol… since we have to contend with it anyways why not make rabbit poop fertilizer a side venture?

WHen we just had Mr.B and in three days I was able to fill up one jar! Granted it was one of those small glass jars that was for pesto sauce (if you go to the pasta sauce Isles you’ll see the one I’m talking about, its a green pesto but they also have a red one too). * I only use that jar for the poopy, just to clear that up so noone thinks I’m eating or storing food in it too .lol.

So I guess the stove pellet litter would be ok to put in the garden?  That will cut way down on my garbage can volume since I’m dumping the litter daily!  Yeah!

Now if I can just train Maryann to go on the Gardenias…
