Her name is Bambi and she is a 5 month old Broken Rex. She is the love of my life and was purchased by my fiancee for me as a gift. I used to raise rabbits when I was a kid (breeding and showing himalayans and flemish giants). I have never met a rabbit with such personality as my little Bambi. She loves to groom me and give me lots of kisses. She is very comfortable with people and will hop up on the couch and watch tv with me. She has a pretty large hutch and she gets to be let out mornings and evenings and gets free roam of my bunny proof apartment(except upstairs).

(I know the space isn’t bunny proof in the pic but that was when i put her hutch in as soon as I got it assembled.)

She loves to chase me and is pretty well trained. She definitely knows the meaning of "No" since she likes to climb the stairs even though she knows she is not allowed upstairs. She has some of the craziest markings. On her belly she has a black line going all the way up the center of her stomach and has black spots evenly spaced on both sides of the line.

welcome tcarroll8709, she’s a very pretty bunny 🙂 It sounds like she has lots of personality.
I just wanted to check about her hutch, since many of them have wire floors which can lead to sore hocks. You may want to add some grass mats to help protect her paws.

Actually I do have a grass mat in there now.. that was a picture of the hutch when I finally constructed it.. as you will notice that it doesn’t have anything in there yet. On the otherside is a wooden floor but i have an old towel and pine shavings.

What kind of litter do you all use? I had bought the lavendar rabbit litter and put it in the pan below so when she does go to the bathroom there isn’t a mess and it doesn’t smell like urine either which is nice. I so clean her cage out twice a day too which helps with the eliminating any odor.

It’s just because I’m OCD.. it’s no fun because when I see just one little thing lying on the floor I freak out. Oh and I’m pretty much a clean freak but atleast my house smells nice and is always clean for unsuspecting company.

oo I’m very glad to hear about the grass mat for her paws.

yeah, my bunnies want to know if you’ll come over twice a day and clean their pen too! The problem with putting the box below the pan is that unless she’s going in the box, she’s not going to become litterbox trained. Osprey told a lot of us about a litter called Aspen Supreme and it’s great with odor.

                                Bambi is such a cutie!

I use carefresh bedding for my buns litterbox. Your pine shavings.. are the oils removed? cedar and pine shavings can be harmful to rabbits due to the fumes and oils but there are some that are exposed to extreme heat and removed.

starlitaf- that was crackin me up when I read that!!!!

she’s beautiful.  she looks like she could be my mini rex’s FRATERNAL twin… lol.  their coloring is just about opposite.  is she a mini or regular rex?  she looks pretty big for five months.

She is a regular rex and a big girl at that. The people I bought her from said she was born in July.

To the girl that asked about my pine shavings.. they are shavings made for small animals so they do not have any fumes. They are completely safe.

I will get more pictures posted soon!
