Cornelius has a new trick — attacking his reflection as soon as the sun comes up. He sneaks behind the curtain in my bedroom (which covers a patio door onto my deck) and chooses various points to "attack" his reflection in the glass. If you turn the sound up you can hear how loud it is!

I’ve been forced to put cushions against the window so he can’t wake me at the weekends! Has anyone else seen their bun do this?

            Adorable!

I bet it is annoying especially when you want a sleep in.

Floppy just stares at himself. I am convinced he is conceded…but he is cute so who could blame him?

well how cute is that?  lol.  nice weekend trick with the cushions.  my bun has never had that opportunity since i don’t have any full-length glass or mirror doors.  she’s pretty scrappy tho… i could see her acting just like cornelius

Are you sure it’s an attack and he just doesn’t want out?

My bunny actually shies away from her reflection. If I’m holding her and move towards a mirror with her, she starts leaning away from it. She also does this to any other bunnies that are held by someone else.

When I first got Shadow, he would stop short at his reflection in a glass door. After realizing he was not going to get groomed, he just ignored it.

Some bunnies do get annoyed with the reflection in the mirror, especially if they don’t oblige with grooming or the “live” bun feels that their space is being invaded by that stranger. It coudl be that he wants out as well. Of course it doesn’t have to have anything to do with the reflection at all. Do you let him out of that door? He coudl see something outside he wants to desperately mark or chew as well.

The only time Frankie really sees his reflection is when I hold him up to a mirror with me and tell him how cute he is… he doesn’t seem to mind too much… just wiggles his nose a little and stares.
