This is one of the bunnies at the animal shelter that i really want to take home!

Here is his description:Hershey is a friendly, easy-going Holland lop rabbit with an extra thick, gorgeous chocolate brown coat. He’d been found out on the loose but is in good shape and very sociable. Hershey is neat with his litterbox and enjoys being petted and coming out to play in the pen every chance he gets! We’re looking for an indoor home for Hershey where he can have a roomy cage or pen, and a rabbit-proof play space to kick up his heels every day. He’ll soak up all the attention and pets you can share with him, and would probably enjoy having a bunny pal to hang out with while you’re away. We’ll be happy to help you with introductions if you already have a (spayed or neutered) rabbit who’d like a friend!

And another description a shelter worker emailed me:We actually have this super sweet mellow lop at the shelter named Hershey.  He is great with the litterbox but running loose he might drop turds here and there.  He has been hilariously mellow

I really wish i could just run out and get home right now, but i am leaving for a week during christmas and it would be ridiculous of me to get him right before my vacation. I just hope no one else snatches him up before i get a chance to!

anyway here are some picks of him from petfinder

I have heard of adoptions being banned before christmas and easter to prevent bunnies from being gifts, but so far no one at the shelter has said anything about this to me. I guess this is a shelter that doesnt ban it.

If a shelter rabbit cost money maybe you can pay now and explain why you can not take the rabbit until you get back from holidays?

They might hold him for you.

                He sure looks cute.

I personally love the little white spot on his right ear. Make him look like a hippy.

OMG – what a sweet sweet looking bunny And its great that he is a mellow holland lop, since they are small sometimes that breed can be a bit more skittish than others, but he sounds fantastic!

He has such a sweet little cubby face. I agree with Lisa43– you should see if you could reserve him! I’m sure a shelter of all places would understand why you don’t want to take him while you’re going to be gone.

He is cute! That white spot though might be from a scar or injury. Poor fella. I think I would definately contact the shelter about holding him for you. Some places will.

Good luck Meg. I hope it works out, but if for some reason it doesn’t just believe in the ultimate truth that everything happens for a reason and that in the end you will wind up with the bunny you are supposed to have – so, just be peaceful about it. and trust. He is a little chocolate darling though…keep us posted!
