        i just need to vent for a second.

        i’m at work and the switchboard (phone) is dying and the company that owns our hotel is too cheap to buy a new one so it constantly goes "beep……bleeeep…….beep……beep…….bleep……beep….beeeep…..beep….bleeep…..beep….beeep….beep…." and it’s driving me nuts. i want to smash it on the floor. but then i’d probably get fired.

        oh woah is me!

          I feel your pain. The Gamestop I work at is the lowest-rated Gamestop in the country or something god-awful like that, so the company has designated us a lost cause and no longer sends us things like cash registers, surge protectors, bags, receipt paper, etc. We still have a dial-up modem and it goes down like daily, so… yeah, I know all about the beeping. >___< But seriously, if they want us to do better, shouldn't they, y'know, try to help?

                oh they know. they just don’t care. we’re the low property on the totem pole so they don’t give us money for silly things like new phones. our desk chair in the office broke last week and they haven’t replaced that yet either so we hauled a chair down from one of the hotel rooms so we have a place to sit in the office.

                      Lion-O, my switchboard died yesterday! It was too funny watching the managers crawling under the desks and reception partitions trying to fix it before they allowed me to call the repair service. (they have a service contract, duh!) Instead of beeping, the office phones would ring once and customers would hang up cause they would get this lovely raszberry sound instead of the greeting. So we had ring, click, ring, click for most of the morning. They attached a long phone cord from the employee closest to me and gave me his phone to try and get any incoming. Worked 10 percent of the time. The guy has a horrendous cold, had to hunt for alcohol wipes before I would use it. Almost as bad as constant beeping, ring click, answering the temp phone and getting no one 90 percent of the time and constant “is the repair guy here yet”

                        had a few days off of work. came back today and…… *drum roll please* THE SWITCHBOARD IS REPLACED AND WE HAVE NEW OFFICE CHAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *much applause* apparently the switchboard finally died to the point where no calls would go through so they HAD TO replace it.
