hmmm… i think there could be a few different reasons why this could be happening.  my first thought – if this has come on suddenly – is her health.  has she had a vet checkup recently?  is she pooping & eating normally?   i mention this not to scare you, but because i’m sure i read somewhere that buns may be more defensive if sick.  best to rule that out first (or at least consider it)

next i wonder, have you had Betty for a long time?  if she’s relatively new to you…  the clothes biting may be something you have to work around (ie: not letting Betty at them).  my bun bites at my clothes when i try to keep her in my lap because she’s mad at being confined.  soon as i put her down she’s fine.  i also have to give her lots of toys to rip & shred so she won’t go at the baseboards or carpet.  i think most rabbits just love to chew at things.

does she bite your hand when you reach out to pet her?  she may not like your approach.  for instance if you’re reaching down to her from above she may perceive this as a threat.  crazy as it sounds… she may prefer you get more at her level before you approach since rabbits prey usually strike from above.

if you’ve had her for several years, she’s recently had a clean bill of health (is pooping & eating normally) and is suddenly biting maybe its something else all together. like, have you recently re-arranged her living conditions (moved her litter or where she likes to sleep)?

kind of a lot to mention – i know – but it could be a few things.  i think you’ll have to do a bit of investigating.  maybe some one else has other ideas?

She could also be acting territorial or feeling threatened. When she tries this, gently place your hand on top of head and press gently down into submission to get her to calm down and understand you are top bunny, not her.  Stroke her head and talk to her. This usually works quite well for aggressive bunnies and if she attackes your hand, you might want to wear a glove.  Do you talk to her when you see her? You could be startling her if not. Rabbits do not see very well close up. Does she respond to sound? Some bunnies that are deaf will act in this manner too as they are startled by your "sudden" presence.

Like babybunsmom said, she could also be injured so it might not be a bad idea to check her out (put her in a bunny-burrito) health-wise and look for any sores or soreness.

What is happening when she begins biting you? What are you doing and what is the bun doing – including what was going on just previously. It is hard to tell without knowing the situation. My rabbit didn’t do anything to me for the first few months, then she began in with a digging/biting tactic on my chest whenever she was in my lap. I finally realized what it meant (don’t stop the pets!) but I had to figure it out on my own. She didn’t start doing this immediately as she needed to be comfortable enough with me to finally let me know what was bugging her.

I agree with the other posters – if you can tell us more about wht you and she are both doing before she bites, we can probably figure out what is setting her off, and how to best address it.

In the meantime, I can highly recommend going to the Links section of this site for The Language of Lagomorphs.  It has a lot of info on bunny body language, and is incredibly helpful in helping you figure out what she is "saying" and what you can do to communicate things to her in a way she can understand.

                  Well

When I go to feed her she pulls my clothes

Just whens she’s out she comes up and bites my clothes and i pick her up for attention and she botes me

Them suggestions are really good but im not sure she went to the vets this thursday

good to hear nothing is wrong with her health!  so then, i wonder if she’s looking for more attention?  a lot of rabbits don’t always like to be picked up.  my bun digs & bites when i pick her up too.  but she loves attention & wants for me to pet her head.  some times she ‘asks’ for pets by nibbling on my hand.  she does not lunge at me & bite, but she sniffs at my hand and then starts to nibble.  maybe you could try to pet her head while she’s on the floor?  if she starts pulling at your clothes, move her away & say ‘no’ firmly.

Yeah, some bunnies don’t want to be held. My new bunny Dono will actually push his head under my hand if I am not petting him but doesn’t want me to pick him up – which is fine by me as I always get nervous when they wiggle when I try to do it the proper way.   I’d suggest getting down on the floor to your bun’s level and petting them until they get bored of it.  I pet for like 30 seconds then stop.  If the bunny comes towards me, I start petting again.  If they’ve had enough, they’ll turn their head away and go find something else to do.

Yes, you have to be a slave to your bunny master’s whims.  But it does all work out.
