ARGH! Lullabelle is in soooooo much trouble.
SO today I noticed my phone was almost dead but I decided I’d just charge it tonight when I went to bed. Well it went totally dead and i decided to go charge it now… it’s in our bedroom where lulla isint allowed but she did break through a couple times today when I went in there for something. WELL as you probably have guessed SHE CHEWED THROUGH MY CHARGER CORD! And now I have no phone. I looked online to see how much new chargers are and they are 30 dollars. Ugh. UGH I SAY!!!
To make it worse…lol…I had just gone out and bought a pet barrier thing to put in the door way so that way she wouldnt run in the room every time we opened the door, and this was BEFORE i discoved the eaten cord.
LoL. By the way…we’re not really going to have rabbit stew for dinner…we would never eat lullabelle…we just think about it when she’s bad. haha. We would never eat rabbit either!!! awe poor bunnies
it makes me sad to think of eating a bunny. Why would anyone ever want to do that?
uh oh – ah the wonderful world of chewed rabbit cords. It may be cost effective to go to home depot and buy some wire strippers and those plastic things you repair to chewed cords
Its a good thing the cord wasn’t live when she bit through it! I bought some cord covers at Ikea for very cheap – so those might help for those areas where you don’t THINK lullabelle will go but you never know…!
i think we maybe have to resort to cord protectors. We tried to set up barriers around places that we couldnt hide the cords behind something but she’s defeated those. I’m going to have to get one for my laptop cord… its something that I move around a lot so I cant hide that cord and she has nearly chewed through it. I don’t know how she hasnt been shocked yet, shes a lucky bun. I created this small caged area that is too small for her to get into where i put my laptop cord in when I’m sitting on the couch but she somehow wiggled her big butt in there and gotten ahold of it. the wires are exposed but remarkably it still works. I’ve tried really hard to decord this place but as expected shes always showing me places i’ve missed. such as the phone charger *still angry* LOL.

This is all too familiar…

oh my those are hilarious!!!
hahaha… good ones! markusdark, i’m saving that pic to show my gramps. every time i see him he asks if i’ve made rabbit stew yet and then he laughs at his own joke. he’s a cutie. he’ll get a kick out of seeing this ![]()
I wish I could find my favorite one. it is a picture of a bunny sitting in a dutch oven. It’s just peering over the edge, ears back, looking all scared and there’s a bit sign on the side of the dutch oven saying “Stew”. Bunnies get into the stewpot instead of the doghouse when they do bad things.
Just as a joke once, after maryann was especially naughty one day, I said “That’s it!” and picked her up and put her in the microwave. Of course I didn’t turn it on or anything but the look she gave me when I did it was “You wouldn’t dare…” and then she began to lick the wall where there was some splattered sauce from a hot pocket earlier that day.
So much for intimidating my bun…
lol… microwaved hassenphfeffer. i’m not surprised maryann didnt take you seriously. she knows she has you wrapped around her paw toe. your description of the dutch oven pic has given me an idea for a bunny photo op…
i love pictures of bunnies in things they’re not supposed to be in… i think someone on here posted a pic of a Bunny (or their bunny) sitting on a shelf in the refrigerator eating some green leafy thing. i got a chuckle outta that.
xnovaltene, why don’t you just strip the ends of the two pieces of broken cord, twist the wires back together, and tape it? Much easier and cheaper than buying a new one!
I can relate, Stormy ate the cord for my phone a while back. We had no cordless for a few months. But what do you do? Lol, they are too cute to spank their bums ![]()
Lagomorpheus: I would if only I knew how!!! Luckily i have a USB plug in for my phone that I found will charge my phone – so I might try to mess around with the chewed cord to see if i can get it to work again, if not I can just use the USB plug until i get extra money/fed up with the USB plug! lol Thanks for the suggestion!!
It’s quite simple:
wow thanks for the instructions! I will try it when I get home — im at work right now. It should be interesting!!! Haha
good luck! prolly a skill that’ll come in handy 😐
[awe poor bunnies it makes me sad to think of eating a bunny. Why would anyone ever want to do that?]
I know what you mean. I saw an add on craigslist one time for bunnies where the guy actually said he didn’t care if you kept it, bred it, fed it too another pet or ate it for food. He just wanted them gone….5 bucks each. How sick!!!! And not to mention irresponsible! The ad was flagged and removed from the site very quickly to say the least! Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to have pets.
On a lighter note, I’m truly lucky…Kazi and Trix haven’t chewed through ANYTHING….yet!
Not a cord, furniture, clothes…nada! Oh, oh…I’ve gone and said it now! Watch, they’ll chew something up tomorrow!
Okay, someone’s gotta tell me how to work the quote thing…its not comming out right! Maybe I’ll stop by the technical lounge ![]()
Ha ha ha – my boyfriend always jokes that he’s going to make a hat out of my bunny. Ha ha, good thing I know he’s kidding. As for the chewing, I bought this black plastic ribbed tubing stuff from the auto parts store and put it over all of my cords and it’s worked like a charm. It was very inexpensive as well, about $12 for 22 feet. I think it’s used for running vehicle wires through and keeping them all together.
sweet! ikea has something like that too but of course it costs more and i have to travel an hour to get there.
I have learned that jokes about bunny predictaments need to be carefully weighed when telling them to bunny lovers. When I tried the two bonded boys with Maryann, Flopsy and Mopsy were bascially indistiguishable from one another – even the people at the shelter couldn’t tell them apart. While one was snuggling with me, I said “I’m going to have to do something so that I can tell you two apart. Maybe dye you purple.”
To which the couple of volunteers there laughed and said, “Yeah, he’d probably look good with racing stripes.”
I smiled and said, “Yup. Or maybe,” I cooed while massaging one of his ears, “I will just chop off one of your ears.”
It was like I just pooped in everyone’s cereal.
So I have decided to curb my ‘unique’ sense of humor while dealing with bunny people.
ROFL!!! markusdark… occasionally i find my sense of humor misunderstood too. unfortunately in similar situations i then start laughing at the fact none of them get i’m joking. then they think i’m doubly nuts for laughing whenits clearly awkward and it makes it even worse. lol.
If you want to try a really neat joke that got me nearly thrown out of a vet.
If your bunny or other pet has to stay at the vet for any reason, when you come back to pick them up, walk in with the carrier’s door facing you, you with your finger inside of the grate giving cooing noises and so on to the empty crate. Then, when someone makes eye contact with you, yell “Ouch!” then say, “WHy you little!….” while shaking the carrier violently.
I’ve also found that the VCA Oakland sometimes has a rabbit there that is up for adoption. When I boarded Maryann there for a couple of days while my apartment complex was being fumigated, I went back and found the rabbit there to be very friendly. When the boarder came up to me and told me that Maryann had a great time there and she seemed like she didn’t want to go home, I said “Keep her and I’ll take this one home with me.”
You have to understand that my sense of humor is my self defense mechanism and anytime going to a vet is stressful for me.
I’m also a little devil.
ha ha, it does sound like your humor is pretty devilish. I have tp admit I often have a pretty hard time with rabbit stew jokes, they just really bother me in most cases. but most other jokes I find amusing.
