Hello everyone, hope all is well with you all.

Noob had recovered well from her spay and we had been trying to get the rabbits to bond. We have been swapping litters, dolls and cages; as well as car rides and time spent in foreign environments. Bunny has been less aggressive towards Noob which is good.

In some of the sessions Bunny has ignored Noob, however there have been far more violent interactions. This may have to do with Noob requesting to be cleaned and Bunny wanting to be dominant (since its her house and Noob is the new bunny).  This usually ended up in a small tussle and fur being left on the floor from both rabbits.

In the past week or so, Bunny has not specifically attacked Noob, but she will jump around/near/over Noob. Its quite strange…is this normal during bonding when they are not quite trustful but not distrusting enough to attack?

any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.

        Thanks,

        Joe

Well there is rarely a ‘normal’ situation during bonding however what you describe sounds like Bunny is actually trying to get Noob’s attention – as if to see how Noob will react to her. If all Noob is doing is sitting there wondering what this crazy rabbit is doing, it is just fine. If they are not outright agressive towards each other all the time – that is to say if Bunny’s ears aren’t pulled back in fight mode while she’s doing this, it is an acceptable part of bonding.

Hi Chinphat, I hope all is well with you too! When there isn’t any tussle it means there is a good chance that they will get along, but it may take some time and patience. At least they did not go at each other though, so it’s progress.
