So, I was in my bunny’s room sitting on the floor while he roared around doing binkies and such and though of an idea for a free toy I could make. My bunny doesn’t seem too fond of his hay so I was hoping a toy would make him enjoy it more, if he could have fun getting at it.

I took a big brown paper bag and opened it up, then tore it into long shreds or strips. Next, I took a bundle of hay and packed it tightly into a ball. I took the strips one by one and wrapped them around the ball of hay then carefully tied them into a knot of sorts. After about 8 or 10 strips, the ball was almost completely encased in paper strips.

I put the ball on the ground, and he actually played with it a bit, tearing the paper off, but he didn’t really eat the hay. However, if your bun likes hay, this could be a real hit – and it’s free!  I hope some of you try it. It was fun, and while I was busy making it and tearing the strips, my bun was very curious as to what I was doing, so it was cute.
