so lately my Baby bun has been oh so cuddly-wuddly and can’t seem to get enough head and ear rubs.  the mutt – being clearly jealous of the extra affection she’s receiving from me – turns his head away from her every time she presents her head to him for grooming.  he used to be happy to oblige.  i didn’t want there to be more ‘sibling rivalry’ so tonight i got the idea of schmearing a wee dallop of peanut butter on her head.  worked like a charm!  treat for him & respect for her.  i could even hear her teeth purrs.  now they’re both content & chillin’ – cept for the crazy human taking pics

(note: this was a fully supervised event.)

Awe cute pic! I really hope they can work things out. A lot of times a serious illness or surgery will make a bun more affectionate towards humans.

I love it when bunnies and cats/dogs get along! I was hesitant to try the treat-on-the-forehead trick when bonding my two rabbits together because I thought, while it may be nice while the treat is there, it won’t build behavior they will repeat on their own (i.e. actual bonding). What do you think?

i agree… i don’t think it would work for bunny on bunny bonding.  only works with my dog because he doesn’t ‘speak wabbit’  and has no clue he’s being submissive when he licks her forehead.

i am so happy that Baby is feeling better and wanting more attention!  it’s a good thing your dog gets along with her… my parents dog would just think it was peanut butter on a furry cracker…

we are very lucky that our dog is jealous but very good with our bunny gidget. she shares her bed (like she had a choice), and lets the bunny use her as step up to couch, trampoline, and something warm to sleep by. gidget also knows when dog millie gets something to eat, and crumbs fall, and if gidget leaves leftovers, millie eats those. its mutual cleaning up, we say millie is good bunny big sister!

awww… gidget looks quite comfy on millie’s bed there   millie looks as my dog does most times… as though she’s saying "i’m putting up with a lot here… just give me some lovin’ and i’ll forgive & forget"

What adorable bunny/dog pictures!! I bet your dog was super excited to find that Babybun is PB flavored on her head I’m so impressed that those dogs are so good with the bunnies, especially with them being such large dogs. Thats so funny that Gidget has a “trampoline” – I bet she gets big air on her binkies!
