        Hi,

Great site, has helped me load full. About a month ago I rescue a lion head from a pet store. She accumulated well and gets allow with my male lion head. Not too long ago she was acting fierce and not happy, after a palpation and research I found out she was pregnant. So a little black baby was born on Halloween. Any suggestions on name? YEs just one little baby. So cute and alive. I am almost converted to bunnies alone- no barking, no drooling

Oh another cute story- My male lion head and I went to a public picnic (temp under 80). He was on a leash and harness loving it. He was so calm and snuggly with the children- amazing creatures. While I ate lunch he ate grass. People thought he was a pom pom puppy.

Picture is of the Mom bunny, P.L.- she looks like a sea urchin with ears

Hello Casey, welcome to Binky Bunny!

Wow! I can’t believe she had just one little baby! I hope that he is doing well. Has your boy bunny been neutered? Bunnies can get pregnant again even the day after they give birth, so you’ll want to keep your girl separated from your boy if he is not neutered, and you might want to consider getting her spayed in a few weeks, once the baby is able to eat his own food. Thats so funny that people thought he was a puppy! I can see that with the lionheads, their ears get hidden in all that fur and start to look like dog ears!

Do you have some alfalfa hay for mom and baby? Since mom will be nursing you’ll want to have some alfalfa hay for her to eat because that will give her a lot of calories and help her stay strong while nursing.

                Too cute!
I was told by a breeder that lionhead’s have very small litters and Kahlua was an only child as well!
Could you post pics of the baby? We love bunny pics, especially BABY bunny pics
I know what you mean about people not realizing they are bunnies, I have pics of my kahlua on my desktop at work and the most commonly asked questions…”What is THAT?’ hehe …My brother is convinced she is a guinea pig with fake ears!

                Names? (I am so original…*rolling eyes* but…) Boo; Trixie (trick or treat?);

                  Cool comments. Thank you all

So here is a picture of the baby. It’s dark the eyes are barely open. Later that day the baby was crawling around with mom. I let mom out in the garden daily so she can get some fresh veggies at her leisure. She’s a good mom so far and baby is plump seems to add like 4-6 ounces a day. I’m planning to take pictures every week on Sunday so we can watch it grow til it can be weaned at 8-10 weeks, that’s Christmas!

what a surprise!  how fortunate there was only one baby… and i didn’t know lionheads have such tiny litters.  since there is only one baby… i assume you’re planning on keeping him or her?  (if there were several babies, it’d be a different situation entirely!)  i hope you decide to post your weekly photos on binkybunny!  in know i’d love to see the baby grow up!

I think maybe it is all dwarf or small rabbits that *usually* have small litters..I’ve read 1-4 is normal for small breeds…Very fortunate to only have one!
Looking forward to seeing those pics!!

Actually I am not keeping this love package. I planned to rescue P.L. (mom) but was unaware of her condition. Since I have one and knew he would be a good influence on her (seprate but together). I was planning to find her a good permanent home well now I plan to keep her since she and my male enjoy each others company so well. He loves it when she’s around and does twist hopes in the air. So the baby when it comes of age and health for a home will be up for adoption. Though I have no clue what it will look like since dad was at the pet store- a rabbit with fur I hope.

ooo my goodness, what a cute tiny baby!!
is your bunny boy neutered yet? i’m happy to hear how much he’s enjoying the baby, i think that’s kind of unusual!
i’m hoping you’ll also plan to get the mama spayed once the baby is weaned.

Welcome Casey! That is very sweet of you to adopt and what a surprise it must have been to find out that she was pregnant.  I am glad that both her and baby are doing well and look forward to hearing about the growing up of the little one.  Hmm, names. It would hard to tell the gender. How about Bewitched, Cauldron or Soot?

They grow so fast, don’t they?  So darn cute too.  I think they are so cute now because when the hormones kick it, it’s a whole other story.
