I’m so glad you changed your mind!  I would encourage you to get your current rabbits spayed and neutered as well.  Very, very important!

Can you tell us where you live and we can direct you to a rescue in your area – they can help you with a vet to spay and neuter your rabbits and also help you with adopting a rabbit.

Oh from the Philippines!  Well, that makes this a bit more challenging to say the least!  The resources at my fingertips are U.S. based. 

I found this regarding vets in the Philippines http://www.talktothevet.com/VETERINARIANS/LOCAL/PHILIPPINES/index.html for when you are ready to spay and neuter, and they even might be able to guide you to place to adopt a bunny.

Here is what I found as far as animal rescues. The Philippine Animal Welfare Society http://www.paws.org.ph/ (now these guys are more dog and cat based, but they may be able to refer you to place that has rabbits.

I personally have never dealt with any of these places of course, so you would have to call and make your own judgement call.

The Phillipines? I bet my bunnies want to change places with yours I hope that PAWS may be able to help you, I could not find a rabbit based rescue in the Phillipines, but I know that quite often, when shelters receive rabbits the rabbits are not given as much time as dogs and cats – so you could also let the local shelters know that if a rabbit comes in you’d like to adopt the rabbit. You would definitely be saving a life

I recently got my first bun (Beepers) 1 month ago adopted him from someone who could no longer care for him…He is a joy…He is neutered 1 1/2 yrs old mini satin..he is use to having other rabbits around him..would it be good for him to have another bun? And how hard is it to adopt and to have two buns in a household and could he be happy by himself?

That is a good question. In general, it is thought that rabbits are happier in pairs then alone because of the fact that rabbits generally live in colonies of bunnies. It makes them feel safer to have someone else around to “keep watch” as well as to groom them, snuggle with them, and play with them. With rabbits however, the introduction can take awhile, and it can be days, weeks, OR months before two rabbits can live together all the time unsupervised. I was fortunate enough to have two bunnies bond in a couple hours, but that is not normal. I’d recommend as a first step taking your bunny to the local rescue, and having him go on some “bunny dates” where he can meet other bunny girls (or boys) and see how he interacts with them, and if there is a special one for him. There is a lot of information on this site about “bonding” (the process of introducing two bunnies), so search that in the forums, or up top in the Bunny Info. to see how it works!
