Hello again! Well now that I got the fleas under control, something very.. well, unique has happened.
You remember our Hercules? Well, that bum. See, about 5 to 6 weeks ago we got a Flemish Giant. My husband really wanted one, and she’s young.. about six and a half months ago now. Well, as we let her roam one day, Herc jumps out of his pen. We thought we got him quick enough, and hubby said he was on the "wrong end", if you know what I mean. Well apparently, he got the "right end"! Because, one of the babies looks just like a little Herc!
So Zeema delivered this morning. I had no idea she was even prego, poor thing. But, I’m wondering… do Flemish Giants take care of their young any differently than other buns, because of their size?
Total litter was 7, but one was deceased. I named ‘it’ Star.
And we have 5 little gray ones that look like mom, and one little Herc Jr. lolAny advice would be great. lol Thanks.

They take care of their babies just like any others. I would separate the male and female if you haven’t already as she can get pregnant right after birth – it’s not fair but she can – I do see they aren’t together now that it was an accident.
The babies need to be kept warm to digest their mother’s milk so make sure they are out of drafty areas – the mom should make a nest as well to keep them warm.
