  Hi, Binky Bunny Buddies!
  
  I was just wondering this upon my return from a most successful gathering for some OTHER animals…is there a bunny gathering of any sort for people who love their pet bunnies? I wondered if this already existed, or if I could help create something of the sort specifically for BinkyBunny community members, or the bunny community at large?
  
  I have always been one of those "mover/shaker" nerds for animals and other fun stuff. I am just visualizing it:
  
  -Bunny goodie bags
  
  -Bunny toy making workshops
  
  -Social fun for the human bun caregivers of course
  
  -Silent auction to raise support for rescues, etc.
  
  -Discussions and education (but fun of course) on diet, care, etc.
  
  Does this already exist? If so, where, when, and all that jazz! Would the community enjoy having a different additional event like it? I’m so curious I can hardly stand it! Love, Jen

  In our area, we have a yearly ‘Bunny Fest’ which tries to pull together bunny people and companies selling bunny merchandise. There are also more informal ‘meet up’ groups that organize get togethers.

  There are these types of things depending on the area you are in. By me they have a "Spring Fling" where they have this type of thing going on. You might want to check into your local rabbit rescue group.

  My local shelter has regular "Spa Days" where they do nail trims, grooming, and glamour pics to raise money. I met up with FujoeBunny there last time. Their next one is this coming Saturday.

  Mmmm…that spa day is genius! Do they also glam up the human caregivers? LOL They should do this…a "Bunny and Me" spa day like "mommy and me" themed!
  
  I actually sent an email to the local chapter of the HRS that I found online, but my email was returned. I then tried joining the Yahoo group for them that I saw listed on their website and so far, nothing. I’m not sure if they still exist or not, but I have forwarded my email one last time to the only remaining email addresses (they had several on their site).
  
  I would really love to get involved with bunny events. I hope the folks at the local chapter are still there and write me back!

  My local house rabbit society is amazing. They have a meeting every third tuesday of the month (which means it is tonight. . . . yay!). If you are a member, which is only fifteen dollars a year, they will trim your rabbit’s claws for free. I have only been to one meeting so far and I had to leave early because my grandmother was in the hospital but I am going to go again tonight and see how things go. Henri isn’t fixed yet so I have to keep him on a table by himself because I am afraid he will want to play too rough with the other rabbits but he really needs his nails trimmed so we are definately going to go.

  Angoragrl, I hope you have a fantastic time tonight! It sounds like such a blast. I can just imagine what all the buns think of sniffing all the other bunnies and having a little social happy hour! I sure hope there are activities like this in my area, and if not, I hope to start one!

  I just wanted to follow up on this with an update…good news!
  
  The local HRS is still here…they are just going through a few changes and the second addresses worked!
  
  There is a holiday party in December and although it’s not in my area exactly, it sounds like fun. They have 400 members! Woo hoo! So I am already at work to try and help and support them. I just wrote an article for their newsletter. Yay!

  Here in San Diego we have an annual Bunnyfest. We had this years just a month ago. The HRS also has house rabbit stores open a couple times a month where they’ll do nail trimmings and you can purchase all kind of stuff for you and your fuzzy friends.

  Oh Pocketfaeries I am pleased as punch you’ve found a place to share and socialize with other bunny lovers. 400 members strong isn’t too shabby either! Hey, if they have their publication online, do you mind posting it here so I can read it? I would love to see what you wrote about! Oh and how are your little darling sugar gliders doing? How do they react with a rabbit around?
