it probably sounds weird that i’m *excited*.

i’m excited that i’m doing it because i know i could just say, she’s my only bun right now, i’m not going to… but i know it’s the best thing for her (and most likely my family as well.)

my extended family does not understand the bunny devotion… so they’re kinda scractching their heads about if it’s really necessary or if i’m just going nuts.  i’m happy to set a good example for them tho.

My male bunny is getting surgery wednesday and my parents dont get why im doing this. So I completely understand. They think it’s fine if they have babies and that they don’t need to be fixed. Maybe they will someday get the picture. But my thoughts are with you and your bunny. I hope all goes really well for your bunny. Keep us updated!

I will keep BOTH bunnies in my thoughts as they go into their surgeries! When I brought my first bunny in for a neuter, I cried because I thought he would think I was deserting him – but them when I picked him up he was so sleepy I don’t think he even knew what happened he is a verrry happy little bunny now!

i’m starting to get sick with worry again.  i found my vet thru the Ohio HRS website.  she has excellent credentials working with rabbits… but she still gave me the talk… there’s a very slim chance that something might go wrong.  i think i’d be less nervous if it were a neuter.  maybe i just need to read about the actual spay procedure a little bit more.  calm my nerves a bit.

She’s very experienced with rabbits and recommended by HRS so I wouldn’t worry. She wouldn’t be honest if she didn’t tell you about the slim chance, but remember it is a slim chance. You can always email the HRS chapter for reassurance too since they have recommended her.

I too would do whatever will help calm your nerves.  Every Dr. needs to disclose that kind of information to prevent malpractice lawsuits, no matter how slim the chance, even if fractional.  It is surgery and with it is a risk.  Meadow is going to do just great and soon you’ll be calming the nerves of others who will be having their fluffbuns spayed too.  I’ll keep her in my thoughts on her day of surgery.
