Sounds normal from my experience. Brian moulted a few months, HUGE lots of fur everywhere. And now he is again. Can I say please please make sure you groom your moulting buns, they may hate it but the last moult Brian had he ended up eating lots of fur, and he got all “bunged up”. Poor baby, he got SO skinny. It terrified me. But plenty of water, parsley and basil, and a good dose of something from the vet soon shifted it. And now he has to suffer the grooming brush daily!! Bettie hasn’t appeared to moult and no fur comes out when I brush her, but Brian, good grief, it seems endless!!

Spacehopper has given you great advice regarding grooming.

Also, it is normal for bunnies not to go through a heavy molt. It’s okay.

We have an angoura & he molts every few months very heavily at first and less and less till he stops. Then he starts all over again. For some reason I have noticed that each rabbits and type of rabbits molt begins at a different time, so its not specific. Groom him well and regular cause when he/she grooms themself can get alot of hair which can cause GI Staisis.

Wordmonkey, now that Spacehopper brought my attention to your avatar, I just wonder how many poor teddy bears and other toy animals have suffered the same undignified fate. It’s a hard life for all toys around the world. They sit on the shelves with their little button eyes full of hope. Their string smile full of glee as we bring them home, and them wham, not even dinner, our bunnies are just so rude. Well, at least rabbits are cute and they usually offer some grooming, so I figure most toys will forgive ’em.

Binky Bunny – you’ll be happy to hear that Martin and Nilla Bean treat my stuffed animals very kindly Nilla Bean spends a lot of time hanging out in my big pile of stuffed animals, and there is one stuffed bunny, and one stuffed moose that she particularly likes, and spends half the day grooming them (and then Martin gets jealous and shoves his nose in there!) My stuffed bunny is one of those Build a Bear ones, and actually, every foster bunny I have had got to have Katie the stuffed bunny in their cage their first night, so they’ve all groomed her!

OH good, MooBunnay, that does make me feel better. I started to think I may have to start a rescue group for toys.

Yeah! It may take up to month after surgery to achieve better manners.
