        Dear Members,

I would love some more help to understand my rabbit. She is a 4 month old Holland Lop.  I am sure that she is hitting sexual maturity. I know that I could have her spaded, but I might be leaving my home soon. I don’t know if I should have her spaded because of this. I really wish I could take her with me. I don’t really know how to go about taking her with me though. I know that a lot of things have changed when it comes to taking your animal with you. I just don’t know if I should think about taking her in the house full time because she is outside, but I normally play with her so much that she in the house most of the day. She was really sweet till now. She has stared to spray my mom with urine and leave dropping all over where we both sit. She is fine in the morning on my bedroom floor. In the afternoon she is aggressive and does such things as I have said. I know it might be because of her hitting maturity, but if I leave she will have no on to take care of her if she is the house. As I said I have no idea who to go about taking her with me. I would if I knew how or whatever. Anyway, I know that my dad wouldn’t like me having her spaded because we have a lot of rabbits. All taken care as best as we can do for them all. I also try to teach my dad better ways to take care of rabbits. I am now reading so much about them and have checked out so many books from my library to better understand rabbits. I just hope that you might have some helpful advice. I will take your advice into consideration and will be very grateful! Thanks!!

Tiffany, welcome to the board. I am so glad to hear that you are compassionate and open-minded enough to be reading all about rabbits and how they are as indoor pets. They are really very loving and wonderful creatures to be sharing the inside of a home with, so long as some bunny-proofing is done. I am really not quite sure what to say except to ask a few more questions about your situation if you do not mind. You said that you might be leaving your home soon and you wish to take your rabbit with you. Are you moving out of the country, out of state or…? I think knowing more about this situation would really help me and others try to best advise you. Also, what/where would you potentially be moving into? An apartment, a condo, a dorm, another house? Would you have room mates? How are you not sure about how to take her with you? As far as a carrier is concerned?
I would really be glad if you could take your bunny with you and have her fixed, that way she will be much nicer to human-folk and your relationship with her will be better as well. I think that everyone would benefit from it, including her as her chances for cancer would greatly decrease and you would have her a lot longer than you would otherwise. Would money be an issue wuch that you would not be able to support both you and your bunny? An option could be to take and surrender your rabbit to a local shelter as well.
I hope to hear back from you.
