I am in need of advice from anyone who is familiar with Angora Rabbits. My English Angora, Sprocket, has always tended to respond to allergans with a slightly moist nose and moist eyes at times. He has, however, developed what I would consider a more cronic case of weepy eyes in the past six months. My vet, who is excellent with rabbits and has her own, discovered blocked tear ducts but no other symptoms or concerns. She prescribed an eye drop which I use twice daily but Sprocket is still exibiting symptoms. I heat water in the MW and use cotton pads to clean around his eyes twice daily. If I did not, he would have matted fur surrounding his eyes. Has anyone else had the same experience with older Angoras? Sprocket is fast approaching 8 years of age and is in excellent health. He is indoors, of course, as all domesticated rabbits should be. When he does not have the run of the kitchen he has a spacious and very clean habitat. I would greatly appreciate anyone’s insight in this matter . . . Lucious Lagomorphs!
