Hello, I’m new to this forum. My name is Liz, I am 20 years old, I’m married and I have a 2 year old son. We live in the San Francisco area of California.

I just recently got my 1st bunny, she was a rescue and I named her Starr. She is named after my friends very sick bunny who won’t live very long. Starr is a true joy to have and such a sweet girl, well most of the time anyway hehe.

She is afraid of people picking her up, but she comes to us, especially me and likes to be pet and brushed. She is litter trained so she is out of her cage all day long, she only goes back to eat, drink, and go to the bathroom in her litter box.

I am here because she is my very 1st bunny, before her I had never even held a bunny. My husband had a bunny growing up and he knows a lot about rabbits but I have no clue. So that’s why I’m here! I want to learn all I can.

        Liz

Hi Starrbunny, and welcome to BB!

Your bunny looks alot like our boy DJ.  We are in the Bay Area too, in the South Bay.  My kids and I volunteer for The Rabbit Haven, where did you adopt your bun?

I’ve never heard of The Rabbit Haven, I will have to check it out. I adopted Starr at Petsmart in Antioch, they had a bunch of bunnies from the shelter.

Oh! here is my second welcome. I read your other post first.  I’m sorry to hear about your friends bunny. What’s wrong?

Most bunnies don’t like to be picked up.  Though there are some that tolerate it well, and even fewer that actually like it, your Starr is actually the norm.   When you do pick her up what does she do?  Is she sooo squirmy that it makes it difficult to trim her nails?

How long have you had Starr?
