Well, this weekend I’ve done nothing but build, build and build. I’m making a new run that is attached to the bunny shed. I’m doing it on a budget. I’ve used old wood that used to be a fence. I think it has turned out pretty good. I still need to put a mesh roof on yet. It’s my birthday soon and my Mum asked me what I wanted, so I told her "A roll of wire mesh" so thats what I got.  My sister is getting me the same so I should have the roof on soon. My kids thought I was crazy when I showed them my birthday present. My plan is to end up with a bunny shed 8′ X 6′ and a run 16′ X 9′ for less that £100 up to now I’ve spent £62. NOT BAD EH!
Here it is so far. When it is finished the buns will be able to come out of a cat flap that used to be a window, down a ramp and into the run.

There is mesh all around which overlaps the ground so that they can’t dig. Can anybody suggest anything that I can put on the ground to stop them digging holes all over. I saw some plastic ground mesh today. Has anyone used this?

Wow, that’s very elaborate – neat! I’m sure your buns will LOVE it!
I don’t really know from first hand experience, but I have seen people use a mesh cloth over areas that they don’t want their buns to dig (carpet, litterboxes, etc) and it seems to work well. Then again, that seems a bit tedious to do for an entire yard. I’m really not sure, though I suppose it may be worth a shot?
Good luck, it looks great! Keep us posted on your progress

Wow can I move in? LOL That’s HUGE! That isn’t too shabby! One thing you maybe want to keep an eye on is if they try to burrow under the fence, attach some of that wire to the wood fence, dig a small ditch, curve it inwards and bury it in the ground.

Beautiful! Do you have anything down below the edges of the bunny property to prevent them from digging their way out? IF not, and the birthday gifts have not all yet been given, maybe that could be the next request..

No, Stanley lives in the house. This will be home for the 2 rescue buns BigWig and Nipper and their baby Lucky. I have already secured the run with buried mesh so they should be ok. Once finished I will be watching them for a couple of weeks and shutting them up at night. If they’re ok they will be pretty much free range.

Those are some lucky buns! The rent for something that size in California would be absurd! Haha

hahaha digxmexnow I was just going to say that looks the size of my last apartment in LA and the rent was $1050! I like how there is a nice indoor area there too. Good Job! Had I built that it would be crooked and tipping over…

This would be known as a cottage with all amenities and attached patio.  At least $750 a month.

That looks like a whole ton of fun for bunnies.  You’re in the UK right?  Make sure those outdoor bunnies are vaccinated.  There is that terrible flea bourn virus there after all.

Also BigWig.  Great name from my favorite book.  "It’s your storm.  Use it."  Love that big tough bunny.  Does yours live up to the reputation?
