  and if you dont mind me asking, what made you wait till now? money/family issues? finally had enough saved? i know, it doesnt matter but i am just curious. besides, all that matters is ITS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! right?

  i was looking for a vet all this time. do you know how maney phone calls and trips to the vets i made!!! it wasn’t any of the family or money thing. BTW it’s on the 16th.

  nothing to worry about. he should only be grogy for the rest of the day and during that period he probably wouldnt eat much but make sure you offer it to him. and i think he should be out and about moving the next day. however, make sure you dont give him too much space around your house to run around or his stiches may get undone. put a pen up. =) i bet he’ll like that. oh, i know what you mean. i made quite a few phonecalls and drove to quite a few places. so i just want to congrats you for having one of the hard parts done. ::claps hands:: =) let us know how it goes.

  Thanks!!! i never thought finding a vet would be that hard!!!! I bet Cookie would gain like 10 pounds the day he comes home. I would be like “eat this cookie. . . what about this. . . . oh boy this one’s your favorite” i have one question. . . do you have to go BACK to the vet to get the stiches out. . . . or do they just leave it in?

  It depends on the method your vet uses. Frankie didn’t have to go back to get anything removed… it looked like they just used the “liquid stitches” kind of stuff that dissolves over time. Your vet will let you know! In the meantime, don’t worry and be glad you have a male bun!

  Yeah!!!!!!!!!! That’s great Cookie. The 16th of this month? Males usually do heal faster then females. I can’t remember if it was you asking, or someone else about fasting, but your bunny should not be fasted prior to surgery.
  
  So after you long vet search, what made you decide on the vet you have now?

  16th of this month. . . The person sounded good. she “fixed” rabbits for over ten years. they had no problems with surgery so far. . . and said the no fasting thing. . . and i asked a few of the questions on the HRS web site. (mostly all ). she was also on the HRS veterinarian referral list too!!!

  GOOD FOR YOU COOKIE!!! I know you had a lot to deal with from the start. I know your dad wasn’t on board with the whole neutering thing at first. But it sounds like you were able to persevere. Big kudos to you for following people’s advice, searching for a good vet and moving forward to do what is best for Cookie.

  Oh Cookie LOL, I don’t think so, you are just a concerned bunny parent. I liken it to selecting a school for your first born (from what I’ve heard), you want to know EVERYTHING. The place sounds like a great choice! I would def. call them back and schedule an appointment!
