SO, I am super excited because I have just found the ideal girlfriend for Raymond – whose hopes of becoming a trio with Juli and Kramer were dashed when Kramer hopped into his cage and beat him up   A couple days ago I got an email from our rescue mailing list about a lady who had found a small white domestic bunny in the Angeles forest.  She was just a teeny white little ball sitting next to the side of the road under a big oak tree!

She was most likely dumped because she is missing one eye, and seems to be going blind in the other eye.  The lady who found her has grand children that can hold and play with the bunny, so she is apparently very friendly.  Anyways, They lady who had her unfortunately has to move to a no-pet living situation, and was looking for a home for the little girl (named "Grace&quot and since I’d always wanted to home a special needs bunny, I am adopting her!

I’m a little nervous about moving her to Texas – but I am hoping that she and Raymond can comfort each other for the trip I really wanted to get him a friend before moving for that reason.

Anyways, I’ll send pics once she arrives!!

That is excellent MooBunnay!  Good for you, adopting an "unadoptable".  I am the proud caretaker of a one-eyed bunny (little Deanna, polish dwarf), and she is a treasure.  I hope your bonding works out!

Thanks for the good luck wishes !

Osprey, did you have to make any special accomodations for your one eyed bunny? I am hoping that Grace will be able to find her food and water. I don’t really care all that much if she finds the litterbox, as long as she find the hay to eat. I know that I am supposed to talk to her before putting my hands near or around her so she doesn’t get scared. i am hoping Raymond can help her, though, it kind of feels like the blind leading the blind, Raymond has been known to plop his feet directly in his water crock, and hop accidentally into open boxes and get himself stuck!

With Deanna (AKA Little Dee), the only time I really notice any difference with her one eye is when the buns are out for play time.  The two two-eyed bunnies leap right out of the pen to explore whe I let them out, but Deanna is much more hesitant to come out and play.  She’ll often hang out in the pen while the other two are playing.  She has growled at me a couple of times when I approached her from her "blind" side, but other than that it seems like she is unaffected by having one eye.

Good luck with your new one.  One eyed bunnies for teh winn!!!1!!11
