  So I have been trying to find stuff to add to our shelter store. The more homemade stuff the more we profit.
  
  I have seen a few websites sell pinecones as rabbit toys. I found online that if you find them on your own you should cook them in the oven for 20min on 225 degrees and then turn off oven and leave in the oven for an additional 2hrs to continue to dry out.
  
  My rabbits have pinecones from their last treat basket and they love them. Websites call them the "natural toothbrush." Quick and easy and fun for a bun to toss around.

  Treat Idea: Take red and/or green apples and cut in long thin strips. place on a cookie sheet that is covered with foil or parchment paper. Sprinkle just a dab of cinnamon. Cook in the oven on 150-200 degrees for 3-4 hours, until dried out.
  
  I bought premade cinnamon apples for my girls and they loved them so I havent made these yet but I am sure if they were a hit with my buns we could sell them too.

  I "cooked" the pine cones today. Did exactly to the directions and they are fine. Rabbit Stop sells what I have posted below three for $1.69.

  mine nibbled a little– but that was all. good thing your bunnies like them.. Hedi- do you have access to any tools? jig saw, or such? I can send you a pic of a toy my bf made for the bunnies which was a big success with Patina-

  My husband has very basic tools. His dad is into woodworking and has everything. Can you send me those pics? I am sure he would help to make stuff for our store too.

  can you use REAL pine cones. like the ones outside? or will they get sick?

  Those are real pine cones in the picture. I went out and picked them at a park then cooked them for 20min and sit for another hour in the stove.
  
  Pinecones can be harmful because if they still have sap on them it is toxic to the bun but if you cook it then it goes away.But I would only use the type of pinecone in that picture.
