I’ve seen that commerical.  Most rabbit people I know seem divided between "ooo cute" and "eeeew creepy" – I’m kind of in the middle.

Most rabbits CAN swim if they have to, but most don’t like it very much.  I know people whose rabbits love playing in a couple of inches of water in the tub or a pool, and then there is my Pepper who nearly drowned after leaping into a full bathtub when I wasn’t paying attention to her.  Thank the gods that not only COULD she swim a bit, but that I found her in time. She doesn’t even like having her feet damp now, and only recently ventured back into the bathroom again.

i second that buns dont like to swim and shouldnt. but just for story purposes, i remember reading of a weird bunny that actually LOVED to swim. i forgot how it went though. i showed my bf a long long long time ago and i barely remember a think (not surprised) ill look for it again and maybe my bf has some clues. =P but i remember something how he can always be found in the pool….. not sure if this is true but interesting. (most likely either a fake story or a very odd bunny)

First off, rabbits should never be in a pool. I mean think about it, it’ll strip them from their natural oils, the chemicals will get in their ears (water period can) and will leave you with a rabbit in poor health. I can’t imagine how their fur would be like after a swim in chlorine.

Secondly, I’d imagine in any situation a rabbit going into the water would run chances of going into shock because we all know their psycho bodies, anything that changes that dramatically like body temperature can throw the whole bunny off balance

And for my last comment on it, I want someone to tell me when their rabbit is running longer than a minute. It almost never happeneds, their fat bums always have to take a rest. So basically these are rabbits who (I’ve never seen go in water willingly in a video… deep water) are using up all of their energy, increasing their heart rate faster than it would already go for a sprint around the yard, and giving their body an unneeded shock from the temperature difference.

Doesn’t it just seem perfect for a heart attack?

I know of rabbits that like water, but only a few inches to play in, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen or heard of a rabbit just willingly going into a pool

but oh well, people will keep on making their rabbits swim, but just cos you see it on tv doesn’t reinforce the idea of swimming rabbits

I’m with ya all! Though there are some rare occasions where a bunny actually likes going into water, for the majority, this is not something a rabbit will choose to do. And I agree 100% with Serpigo. (WELCOME TO BINKYBUNNY by the way.) It can actually be dangerous for a rabbit. I mean even full baths are not recommended because of the "shock" factor, and even when spot cleaning, you keep the water luke warm. So now these people are putting their bunny in a pool?

Amazing how people, even grown adults, are so….eh, what word should I use here….let’s see…"impressionable" they are. And I feel like MooBunnay does. I fear that these "impressionable" people see the commercial and say, "hey, yeah, cool, didn’t know bunnies could swim, let’s see if Thumper can"

i havent seen this commercial cuz i live in canada but i think they shood ban it from the tv lol cuz it gives people a bad idea i think these peopel are stupid for putting their rebbits in a pool

ninja turtles came out  -terripins were solded to all the fars and a great demand most of them ended up being unwanted or abandoned

easter- people dash out to buy rabbits for their kids or freinds resulting in more unwanted pets

i worked in a selter and this guy came in looking for a dog he had saw in a tv program =S i was like wahh he like i want a look alike i didnt know wat to say i asked him if the dog bites but luks like it will u still want it he like yeah he confused me
