  Do any of your take your buns outside to play?
  
  I have totally failed in getting Pepper to wear her harness, so I took the pen that I made from NIC cubes for bonding stuff, added a couple of extra panels, and took it out in the front yard. I set it up mostly in the sun but with a shady section near the bushes and a couple of nice healthy dandelions growing in it.
  
  She pretty much hid in her carrier for the first 10 minutes – This is probably the first time she’s been outside since she was dumped in a park at puberty, so I expect she was a bit nervous. So I kept talking to her and eventually she slowly came out. She thoroughly investigated everything, and did some running around, climbing on top of the carrier to get a good look/sniff around, but mostly sat in the shade and groomed. She didn’t even nibble the grass or the dandelions, even when I pulled some and offered it to her. Guess it was a bit much to take in all at once.
  
  We stayed out for about an hour – I laid on a towel next to the pen with my book, and occasionally gave her pets when she came over to my side. Eventually I climbed into the pen, and opened the door of the carrier and when she went inside I closed it and we went upstairs. Now she’s sitting in her litterbox munching on fresh hay (I refilled the rack this morning).

  We have taken ours out a few times. Our setup is similar, Xpen in the backyard on the lawn. For the most part they just eat the grass, with an occasional half hearted dig here and there. I became paranoid about fleas, so we haven’t taken them out in while.

  I take Sophie out a few days a week in the spring, summer and fall. I set up an x-pen in a slightly shady area or take her out in a harness and leash. She loves hopping around.

  I keep my kids inside, the last time we had outdoor playtime in an x-pen they got fleas 🙁

  i tek my domi out side to play in the back with no pen or harness as its all inclosed and sometimes to the front garden cause theirs grass their but it not inclosed so i use a harness and lead which he doesnt seem to mind

  i started taking my outside with a harness and leash, then a longer leash, then free in a fenced in backyard, and now anywhere! she loves her playtime outside and i just stand and watch to make sure she doesn’t get into something she shouldn’t. she comes when i call her name and i bring her back in. though… look for my posting on care… we used to live next to a farm and she’d occasionally get tics on her ears (about 3 during the whole summer–we played outside at least once a day then). now, living in the city for months, she just got her first one. don’t know what to do about that… she loves the outdoors too much to stop that!

  i see a differant side of domino when he is outside i would rather treat fleas every now and thenn than tek away the happyness my baby gets from going outside he lives in the kitchen and every time i go in he goes to the backdoor to get out =)

  I had the same thing happen as gravehearted. I put them in a pen in the backyard and they all ended up with fleas. They do enjoy going outdoors, and I used to take them out to the back in my old place, but the back yard was mostly brick surrounded by dirt and plants. No flea problems ever there, but I guess the green grass is a haven for them. (I know it’s flea season here, so maybe I’ll try again during the winter months (never very cold here)

  Ours do go outside, we even take them camping. Although Hazel, our "wild" cottontail, is such a "housebunny", she doesn’t like the outside much and prefers being inside "her" house.
  White Chocolate LOVES playing outside. Last year we bought them (and us) one of those "screen tents", because we were concerned about the West Nile virus cropping up in our area. So that is their play area, Chocolate is out in it nearly every evening.

  I love those camping pictures. My favorite is of white chocolate doing a binky in the tent. In the gallery under binkies.

  I took Pepper outside for about half an hour after work today. I picked up an X-pen for $30 off Craigslist – it’s a bit taller and much lighter than the one I made from NIC cubes.
  
  This time she was much more excited. Probably not just because it’s now a new thing any more, but also buns are more active around sunset anyway. (I saw 2 wild ones out tonight while walking the block from the bus stop.) She bounced around and did a LOT of nibbling. Yummy grass and clover and completely demolished that poor dandelion. Sometimes she would stand up on her hind legs to look-and-sniff around. We met a couple of people who were very curious about her – nobody makes friends like a bunny.
  
  But even outdoors she is still my little princess-bunny. She apparently HATES having wet feet, and while bouncing around she was also trying to flick the water off them. Mostly on me.
  
  Yay for bunnies in the sun!

  yea bunnys luv outside i havent had a problem with fleas yet (touch wood)
