We get in many rabbits who have been through alot, either neglected, abused or dumped, but sometimes the state of the animal can literally take your breath away.  I am hesitant to post this, because the pictures are quite disturbing, but if you ever hear of someone who wants to "let their rabbit go" and live in the wild, here is how she could end up.  Saving her is requiring the resources of two area rescues.  WARNING: this article contains pictures that could be upsetting:

Priyani is now being cared for at SaveABunny.  You can get more information about her here:

🙁 that just breaks my heart, thank goodness they found her. I know they’ll take good care of her at SaveABunny.

I saw her during my volunteer time a couple of weeks ago.  It’s so great both rescue groups worked together to get her to a place where she will be taken care of.  She is definitely getting the best care and lots of love at SaveABunny.   When I saw her, she was even looking better, but obviously has still quite a ways to go!  I’ll visit her during my next volunteer time, and see how she’s doing.

My Pepper was a dumped bun.  Animal Care and Control found her in a city park – luckily it was a warm November that year and she was found fairly quickly.  She was skinny and matted but otherwise OK.  The report describes her as "very hormonal", which is probably why she was abandoned.  She was only 4-6 months old.

She was lucky enough to get into a shelter/rescue program where she was cared for, spayed, and put up for adoption.  She waited there more than 8 months for me, but now she’ll never be cold or hungry again.  She’ll never be a cuddle-bun but that’s OK with me .  (as long as she doesn’t decide to go swimming again)

I just got an update on Priyani, and she looks terrific now!   Marcy at SaveABunny has done a wonderful job with her.  Look how well her fur has grown in!

People that are able to do that kind of thing and think it’s perfectly ok make me physically sick. I’ve only just been to the save a bunny website, and am wiping the tears this very mo. Sick sick sick!! All I wonder is how brave these sorts of scum would be when confronted (by the same neglect). ?????
