        EDITED TO ADD A LINK:

eh..geez…try to say this post heading five times fast!

Anyway, Loopy-Lop’s bunny,Lollo, is going in for surgery Thursday to be neutered, and I know Loopy-Lop is probably nervous about it.  I know I was when I had to take my bunny in.

So, Loopy-Lop.  Don’t worry, it’s going to be okay!  Lollo will be fine and he’ll be back before you know it.

Here are some post surgery tips. http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/spay-neuter.html#pre-post-care

I’m sending Well wishing, happy peaceful, healthy healing vibes you and Lollo’s way.

Couldn’t do it… too early in the morning for tongue twisters.

Good thing I only need to type to send best wishes and healthful vibes to Lollo and Loopy-Lop. My bun will soon be following, so I’m really paying attention to how it goes for everyone else.

Sending massive chunks of good luck for Lollo, and calming vibes for Loopy Lop, have all his fave things in his cage for when he gets back, and be careful not to kiss all the fur off his head when he returns!!

My girls went in 3 weeks ago and after a night at the vets were out and about the next day jumping and binkying!! couldn’t quite believe it! xxx

WOW WOW! i am blown away by this thread, and can only say THANK YOU ALL for your thoughts! i can only apologise for my delayed response. in fact i haven’t picked up my mail or even looked at the computer since my last post. my story is long and a bit complicated but i’ll start it by saying that surgery went fine, apparently after the op Lollo was determined to dig out of the recovery kennel (concrete base… ’nuff said!) i of course sat and worried about him. he came home the next day, there was no abatement to his fiesty ways and he only put up with enforced cage rest for 24 hours before for his own safety i had to give him a run out! he had his week-after check up on friday and he’s all but totally healed, passed his M.O.T and got the m’tosois and viral hemmoragic wotsit injections and was SUCH a good boy. i have managed to pick him up a few times and he seems marginally less scared. However yesterday i noticed he is lame in his right leg. i did a full inspection with him on his back, there is no swelling, sensitivity, bleeding or lumps/bumps, he did not flinch and even seemed to enjoy the attention. yet he is still holding it into his body and tending not to use it (he is sometimes putting it to the floor and using it though.) i will have to take him to the vets after the bank holiday- he is eating and pooping/ urinating fine so i’m thinking it wont kill him before i can get him there…… do rabbits get neurosis like some Jack Russels do and ‘fake’ a poorly leg for attention?! oh, ps, i’m going to post elsewhere with my other huge news…..

Most bunnies won’t fake it only because it is in their instincts, as prey animals, to hide it  in the first place.

Is he grinding his teeth at all?  I know that some bunnies will do that when they are trying to hide pain. (it’s louder and harder than the gentle grind of a purr)

He might of fallen on it wrong, or hurt a toe, or maybe he pulled something inside.  I know that males are ready to get out and about after surgery, and maybe his mind was more ready than his body.

Keep us updated as to what the vet says.

Hi Loopy lop I read your thread a while ago because my rabbit was about to get spayed, I checked your thread again today just to see how lollo was doing. After Boo’s spay i kept her in cage rest for 24 hrs and when i let her out i noticed that her right leg was really stiff and she was slightly dragging it. Maybe its just coincidence or maybe its somethng rabbits do when they are a wee bit sore in their tummy area who knows.

hi tallullu! He stopped limping after a couple of days, no sign of anything at all on being checked. the vet must think i’m barmy! I wonder if your right – he certainly wasn’t grinding his teeth and his appetite was as ever (ie enormous!). It is certainly strange both suffered with the right leg. I hope Boo is all better too!

I feel the need to tell the whole world that I think i’ve cracked the bonding with Lollo! – i have managed to pick him up a few times without fuss or chasing and i get to stroke him and give him affectionate toussles behind the ears; he will even let me eg remove bits of hay/ muck from his whiskers when he’s been getting dirty!
