Hi!
I'm having an adoption event in LA at the West LA Whole Foods Market - the address is 11666 National Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90064. There will be a pair of brothers there, a single white BIG friendly guy names Nick, a tiny cute little guy named Taylor, and a little girl named Fergie - BinkyBunny, I am going to send you the flyer because I'm not so good at adding images myself.... |

Good Luck with your adoption event! Have you made any Craig's List postings about it? I find that I can generate a lot of interest that way.
Please be careful about impulse adoptions so close to Easter. We are so worried about this that we skipped our normal show this week, and will resume after Easter.

Hi!
I know what you mean about the Easter adoptions, i was also a little wary of the event at first, but the day is a big adoption day with cats and dogs as well, so I wanted to make sure buns are represented! Also, we are going to mitigate the risk of Easter adoptions by requiring home checks before the buns are adopted for this evemt, that way, the bun probably wouldn't even move into the adopter's house until after Easter! Thanks for the wishes of good luck...
Mr. Chanel was so immediately popular from the flyer that he was adopted YESTERDAY by someone looking for a hus-bun yay! that makes...TWO buns out of the 17 i'm trying ti get adopted so he's eing replaced by another, tiny, sweet bun named Taylor, there are some great pics of him at : http://web.mac.com/elizabethdougher...Bunny.html |

So, the adoption event went very well, to those of you who has a Whole Foods Market neraby, definitely consider it for adoption events, the people there were very animal concious & we ran into almost NO ONE who wasn't interested in learning about the bunnies. We had only ONE person shriek about getting an Easter bunny for her boyfriend (eek) and when she went "oooo what does it COME with??" he avoided eye contact, said "nothing" and I think scared her away....oops...o well...but for the most part, everyone was really interested in learning about hosue buns, and a lot of people took flyers with all kinds of info (including the BINKYBUNNY link! I let everyone know its got the best chat rooms & bunny tips BUT of course, the best news:
1) NICK was adopted - score a point for the unadoptable BIG WHITE pink eyed bunnies! Nick is a huge white bun, and his new home is getting home-checked on Tuesday, and if all goes well, he's headed to a new home after approx. 3 years at a shelter.
2) Taylor went on a successful date - He's a little English spot that had a date with a VVVV spoiled bunny girl, hopefully the potential adoptive mother will ask for a second date!

Yay for big white bunnies! Our experience has been that often the calmest, most easy going and the best bunnies for kids are the big white pink eyed buns. I don't know why, maybe their size makes them more confident or something. Congratulations on a successful show! |

Hi! You know what is so funny is that the lady who runs the shelter was very skeptical when I told her I wanted to bring Nick to the event, she was like "you know, big white bunnies are ALWAYS the ones left at the shelter, and they don't tend to get adopted"...and then he ended up being the huge hit of the show! He was so brave and every time someone came up to the cage he went right up to them. The lady who ended up adopting him is SUPER nice, and she told me that her boyfriend loves Nick too. So, if you do ever consider a bunny friend for Lilly, the big white bunnies are the nicest I have ever worked with! |
