Well, i live in Greece, where rabbit vets just do not exist! The only vets that know something about rabbits are the ones that specialise in kattle! So i was expecting that my boys would be neutered one day by one of them taking the risks because they have no idea about pet rabbits! So, there is one vet that is interested in the subject because he has a pet bunny in his home! And here is the coincidence: My vet's best man is also a vet who lives in England has neutered/spayed countless bunnies and is coming here for the weekend!!! So Aftias and Odisseas are probably going to be neutered by the end of the week!!!! Today he is contacting him to ask about his prices and how to prepare the bunnies! I just hope he is not expensive because my finances are really low this period of time, and i was completely unprepared for this! I feel so excited and, at the same time, so very anxious about this! So please wish me and the boys luck (as there is no time for blood tests now) and wish for the vet to be generous with me!

wow - that's fantastic news that an expert is coming and will be able to neuter them.
I'm so happy to hear that your vet has taken an interest in bunnies. hopefully he'll come into the neuter surgeries with his friend from England and learn better how to perform them on future patients.

In fact my vet has not been tought about rabbits, or any other pet rodents while he was a student, so he is very sceptical about performing any operation on a bunny in the future! But he will surely be able to treat them in easier situations that do not need surgical treatment! The fact that worries me is that there is no time for blood tests so, i just hope that the boys are healthy and that they can withstand it without complications!

Eeee. I would be nervous too!   But the other vet is going to be there doing surgery with your vet right - to teach him?  Hopefully your vet will not perform on any other bunnies without assistance until he's confident.  But at least with your bunnies they will be with the vet who knows how to do it yes?

Also, how old are they again?  Sorry, can't remember.   If they are under 2 years, then usually bloodtests aren't done anyway.

It is not my vet that is going to do the neuterings, but the other, the experienced one! My vet will be just watching or helping! Anyway my vet hed set it clear to me that he is going to do his best to learn about rabbits but he wouldn't take the risks of any surgery! That's why i trust him! Because he is very considerate and responsible (and he is the ONLY vet in my town that does NOT sell animals)! Well, the boys are both about 6 months old and i am counting on the fact that the other vet is experienced with rabbits and that they are both boys and so do not need an "open" surgery!

Thank you binkybunny! I really appreciate the fact that you remember me! Sorry i didn't update, but i couldn't get in these days! Well, the vet from England came to Greece for a seminar the last weekend, but had to leave pretty urgently as he got sick and feverish! So I may have to wait until the next time he visits Greece, unless i find somebody else in the midway! I got a bit disappointed because i was so delighted to find him! Anyways the boys will remain untacked for now!
