We are all bunny slaves, but what do you do to earn their living? Do you work? Not work?
I’m a Medical Assistant in a Women’s Health Clinic. I work alongside wonderful doctors (they are all pretty easy to get along with) to help pregnant women and GYN issues. It is my dream job I would love to become a dietician / nutritionist in a few years.
I tell Koucha, “Mommy ONLY works to support you.”
Hiya ChaCha! Dude, where have you been? We have missed you here!
Let’s see, how do describe my job. Right now, I do public outreach and education. I run programs aimed at improving water quality.
Well … I am basically a babysitter. But with 2 being special needs ( 3 in the summer) and one of those also being asthmatic … I prefer to just say I work in child care. Because I do.
I am physically disabled so I don’t have a job, but I do keep an eye on children and vulnerable adults on a Chat site and I’m an online DJ, I have my own chat room on there, I used to be a nurse, then I was a teacher for people with special needs, sadly I had to give it up due to physical disabilities, but most of my work now is sweeping hay off my carpet and tending to my Olly’s every need as he is a rescue bunny, usually at this time of night I’m online, but Olly ate my microphone and headset the other day which cost me just over £100, I’m not in there until this headset arrives.
Hi! I am currently a full time student studying Medical laboratory sciences, I was a prevet major, but decided I could not afford grad school, and I also want kids young and I am getting married in 3 years so grad school isn’t an option… Yet. Currently I work at my university’s dining court as a student supervisor, and also as an undergraduate research assisstant. During the summer I work at taco bell.
Oh yeah, I guess I can add grad student to my current job description too. LOL I’m not taking classes anymore, just working and trying to finish my thesis.
LBJ10– props to you for going to grad school! We did a project with water quality in one of my medical classes, the things that popped up have me drinking bottled water only! definitely an interesting career.
It’s funny you should mention bottled water because we actually had a very active ban the bottle campaign at my undergrad school. Of course, our city water from the tap comes from a pretty clean source (and they still filter it and all that stuff too). Bottled water scares me a little because you don’t know where it’s coming from. There have been studies that tested bottled water they randomly took from store shelves and found all kinds of things (coliform bacteria, etc). Yikes! Sorry, my intention isn’t to scare you. Is the water from your tap city water or a private well? Now private wells can be scary sometimes.
My masters is actually not closely related to my current job. I mean, the basic stuff is relevant but I’m more interested in wildlife.
JBJ10 The water here is eeeeeeeeeeew, there are many problems with it and I’m going to get filters, even for the shower, as an Eczema and Psoriasis sufferer, hard water means hard skin, some things found in our water would give people nightmares, but if you would like to know about this let me know and I could message you, but don’t read it before bedtime.
Pinky – You need a water softener is you have hard water. Hmm, I’m sure nothing you say would surprise me. It isn’t unusual to have contaminants in drinking water, especially well water.
Well well well.
Sorry had to do it.
LOL
Great to see you LCC, it’s been a while.
Technically I’m an Artist, so of course I actually have worked in sales and design to make money. I’m currently trying to do Mary Kay sales, but I’ve been too sick too often lately.
I’m hoping to go back to what I was doing last time I was too sick to work outside the house. Designing and illustrating t-shirt and stuff, but somebunny chewed up the wires to my graphics computer stuff. My husband keeps promising to fix it.
I’m a grad student, finishing my PhD. I’m also a TA for an online class and, during Fall and Winter, a senior peer advisor for the university’s career centre.
I don’t usually have much free time…
Right now I work part time in the automotive/tire desk department of a Farm and Fleet, but I’m going to be finishing up my bachelor’s in archaeology this December and hopefully going out and digging holes for pay, haha.
I’m actually out on a dig this summer!
Hey there,
Well I was a grad student, but alas all great things (and being in college or grad IS great) must come to an end and now I am studying for the BAR. After I pass I will be a Army JAG lawyer (hopefully special forces). I’m so excited to start that its hard to study now haha.
I’m a CPA, but more into IT and info systems now. Would rather work with bunnies …..

Hiya ChaCha! Dude, where have you been? We have missed you here!Let’s see, how do describe my job. Right now, I do public outreach and education. I run programs aimed at improving water quality.
I’ve been doing good Just moved into my own place this past January with Koucha and her Mister. Koucha has her own bedroom. She is loving it! Although I think she hates her hoomins at times
I work at a horse stable taking care of 20 show and lesson horses. I’ve worked there almost 2 years now. I’m also turning into a pet sitter/farm sitter, and I also have a few people who have me cut their dogs nails. I’d like to be a dog trainer/groomer eventually.
I am 16 weeks away from being a qualified staff nurse, I am currently on my final placement as a student nurse in Glasgow’s shiny new hospital which opened a few weeks ago.
LBJ10– we tested water from all around my city. School water, home water, bottled water, filtered water. As many different samples we could find. I was a TA for the class below mine so I was helping the teacher gather samples, the sample one for the scenario (before we tested our own) was supposed to test positive for nitrates, we couldn’t get it to test positive with fertilizer. Just for kicks and giggles, we tried the school water, and THAT tested positive, along with positives for many other scary cancer causing things! (YIKES!!) Our city water is pretty okay, but I will never drink water from that school again! I just feel safer drinking bottled water that has at least been purified! It was a super interesting project to say the least!

Oh yes, what people find can definitely surprise you. I wonder if the school had issues with its pipes. That is very interesting. I was actually doing to water quality tests with some kids today. We just tested the water that had puddled in the street (it had just rained A LOT). We had some interesting results.
Eepster I used to sell Mary Kay–it was literally the only thing paying the bills when my hours got cut from a previous job!
I love hearing about everyone’s work! It just humanizes everyone a little bit more!
I am a Corrections Security Case Manager in a correctional facility for women (prison)–the best way to describe it is like a probation officer or a social worker but with a prison caseload. I help the women get into programming, teach cog skills groups, work on case plans, do assessments, help them with their release plans so they get out and stay out!
But I’m with JR–I’d much rather work with bunnies. Been trying to talk the hubby into being a stay at home bunny mom. The house would be so clean!!! So far its a no go…..
My husband and I are both disabled, from a head injury and mental illness respectively. However, we stay plenty busy with these adorable furry masters. Plus I help take care of my mom, she’s mostly homebound. I do a lot of art also, but haven’t gotten brave enough to try to sell any. I also do some bunny art.
Well for the past 15 years I’ve been working with my brother – family business – selling insurance – don’t enjoy it.
Recently got a part-time job in which I will be learning medical coding at a doctor’s office – right now just learning the ropes. So far liking it alot. Also taking some classes to get a medical code certificate.
Also now I am a landlord since Etienne passed away – I have a building (small light industrial) and a mini storage warehouse….the building is my retirement per Etienne. The mini storage – not sure what I will do with this – it’s about a 1.5 hour drive for me which I do 2 to 3 times a month. So I guess I’m a real estate developer (j/k)….
What’s medical coding?
Law Bun – I believe it’s the coding system they use in doctors’ offices and hospitals. They use it for billing purposes and other things. So a person doing the coding would be looking at the patient records, translate everything into codes, and enter them into a database.
Law Bun- medical coding is how your insurance gets paid respectively. You go into the doctor, on your charts is an identification number that tells the place depending on if they do electronic coding or paper coding that you are you respectively. Anything like an illness, the treatment plan, etc has a certain code that the medical administrative assistant or the medical assistant will input so that the doctor can get paid by an insurance or in the case of self-pay patients, they would pay.
Coding is not easy, I had to have a small brush with it with one of my courses that dealt with electronic records and learning how to go through each process is a pain in the rear but hey it needs to be perfect before any insurance company will accept the claim and then pay. Woe, to the person who doesn’t go through it with a fine comb. And oh, each insurance company and carrier has their own way of doing things when it comes to medical coding and billing. for me, it was more of a welcome to the hell that paper work is in the health care system.
Oh and to answer the question, I currently do not work since my other half’s mother fell a couple of years ago and we are now just getting her to the point of some independence.
I’m the accounts receivable clerk for a GM car dealership…blah. I’m also a consultant for Rodan+Fields skincare, which is way more fun, lol.
I’m finishing my Master’s right now (finished student teaching in May), and hoping to be a special education teacher for real this fall!
i’m a behavior analyst, i work for a school district and oversee 4 elementary schools as well as an intensive program that is run at one of the schools which provides services to kids with autism (the school site is where all the mod/severe) students with autism attend
I’m a Registered Dental Hygienist! Lots of teeth, all day long!
Wow, a lot of good jobs!
I work at Petsmart right now but my hours have been cut a lot. It’s nice being around the animals, but there is so much work that I don’t get to enjoy them… I need to find another job to make up for the lost hours.
I have associate degrees in graphic design and illustration, but only had a couple freelance jobs in those areas.
In my free time I like to write music, take photos of wildlife, and do other creative art things. My main goal is to write a science fiction novel and have it published. Someday I hope that something will happen and my hobbies will get me a dream job. lol
I’ve always loved animals and thought of getting a degree in zoology, but the advanced math involved was too much. It would be so fun to work in wildlife rehabilitation or something along those lines.
Before working at Petsmart I volunteered at a nature center (which is pretty much like having a wildlife rehabilitation job without the pay) with raptors, reptiles and amphibians. It was amazing! I am going to start volunteering there again if my work hours don’t go back up. And if they do I’ll still find a way to go back. I miss it too much. It’s been months since I went there.
