My bun’s now developed a habbit of jumping on my bed roughly at 3am just to spend over 10 minutes obsessively licking my pillow until it’s wet. I’m trying to sleep, feel her fur on my face and can’t roll over even after she hops off because the pillow’s wet! There’s plenty of food and water left.

There is something about pillows that is very tasty. Probably some of that yucky oil/salt that is supposed to be on pillows from our skin. Powder does it too if he’s on the bed… wake up to “scrape, scrape, scrape…” lol he’ll sit and lick a pillow for like 20 minutes straight.

My bun licks pillows too. But not obsessively. When I sit near her, she licks my trousers. Sometimes I have caught her sniffing and licking my clothes when they are lying around. I have always assumed thats because these things smell of us. Your pillow carries your scent.
Does she grooms you often ? If yes, she’s probably doing the same to things that carry your scent.

My rabbit jumps on the sofa and licks the cushions. The first time she did it, I thought she had peed on the cushion, there was such a big wet spot. I was relieved when I found out it was her tongue that made the cushion wet. She will sit there and lick the cushions for a long time. She’s the only rabbit I’ve had that ever did that.

My Bridge Bunny Stormy used to do this. He would lick our pillows and sheets. Not sure why some buns do this. Possibly because it smells so much like their human or because it’s salty tasting from our skin.

People sweat and the salt forms on the pillow, Patrick will lick my pillow and my face when its warm outside, I play it off like he loves me…. not so, i’m a walking salt block…. which he has one, but doesn’t bother with it at all.
