First a background. I adopted Max over a year ago from the local shelter, he will be two in February. I adopted Dora from the same shelter March of this year, she would have been 3. I lost Dora on Sunday, she passed away. Max looks so sad. They used to snuggle together all the time. So my question is should I get him a new friend?

I’m really sorry for your loss. I know what it feels like.

I dont know much about bonding rabbits, but i think you should wait a while to let him get over her passing if possible (some bunnies [and people] never get over death). But it depends on the bunny, if you wait he may get over it better, but he could get over it better if you dont wait… In the end you should do whatever you feel is right for Max (and for you!)

I am sorry for your loss. ((((Binky Free Dora))))
It would probably be a good idea to get a new friend for Max(although that’s not necessary), but don’t take another rabbit on until you feel like it is the right time for you and Max. You both may need some time to grieve your loss, but all grief is different, so we cannot tell you when/if it is a good idea to get another bunny.
