        Hello,

I have a two year old, female velveteen rex and I travel a lot, and she usually comes with me. At one point this year I was in the car for an hour and a half drive once a week (to one city to the next for school) so she’d come along. Whenever we go in the car for more then 15 minutes I always bring her litter box, and some hay. So after months of going back and fourth in the car I figured a 10 minute car ride would be nothing- but she still gets edgy. I know it’s the nature of a rabbit to be concerned when there’s a lot of stuff going on because they are prey animals, but we’ve been taking a 10 minute car ride 2x a week and she still acts like she’s never been in a car before. I get her little blanket on the passenger and put her there, then I always drive smooth and have the air on her and she occasionally feels better when she’s on my lap with her head in my arm, but I want her to get use to driving.

Will that ever happen? Does anyone else take their bunnies places? I just want her to feel ok when we need to go places.

        -Thanks guys!

Our vet suggested putting a light weight cover over the carrier (breathable but could block the visual movements from the car windows). It has seemed to help my three going to and from the vet. I also talk to them so they know I’m right there. Could be my imagination but seems to help.
