A quick bio, Ziggy is roughly 2 yrs old and not fixed.  I haven’t had any issues with aggression/biting.  Just some bad litter habits.  HOWEVER, a new person has come into my house and I’m not sure if Ziggy is trying to play with him or if he’s being aggressive.  When my boyfriend comes over now and sits on the couch, Ziggy jump on his lap and then jump off really quick.  He’s also starting nipping at him when ever he puts on his shoes to leave.  I’m not sure what to make of this. lol!  He’s never acted this way with other guests and my boyfriend does not have any pets so I don’t think he would be smelling another animal on him.  My boyfriend seems to think Ziggy is jealous since Ziggy will run up to me after he leaves to do laps around my feet.

Intact rabbits are often more territorial so that could be contributing to his behavior. A new person coming into the house could be seen to a bunny as an “invader”.

Probably. I just find it odd that he only does it with one person rather than everyone new that comes over. Weirdo.

Maybe Ziggy knows he has competition? The difference is – your boyfriend does something to him, Ziggy wins – your BF will be frowned upon! But, if Ziggy does something to your boyfriend, he’s just so dam cute – who cares! Ziggy wins again! DOH! ha ha ha….
Hey, good luck with that?!?!? lol….

It really is hard not to laugh (considering Ziggy’s about 3-4lbs). Ziggy likes to use the element of surprise so he’ll walk across the back of the couch and do a little lunge at him. The “attacks” (as Jorge calls them) are random. So one minute Ziggy is laying on his back with his legs up in the air, next thing he’s a green beret planning his next move. Fingers crossed my next pay is enough to get him fixed. lol! In the meantime I guess I’ll just enjoy the show.
I thought maybe he was just trying to play.

I literally just played out that green beret scenario in my head – a bunny against the world (Jorge)! I’m sitting on my own and had a great laugh (just waiting for someone to come into the room to have me committed?) yes, I’m still having a chuckle. Enjoy the show rayray – I sure as hell am! Lol!

Oh, and tell Jorge – love me, LOVE MY BUNNY!

It could be competition for resources. You are Ziggy’s most priced resource. Jorge invades. What would you do if you were invaded? Protect your assets. Bunnies are much, much bigger than they look, in their own opinion =)

When my bunny Yohio isn’t playful but aggressive, he growls. Does Ziggy growl? My Yohio growls at and attack the broom when I sweep the floor (frequently occuring activity due to all the scattered hay on my floors). It’s so cute I’m sometimes tempted to tease him with the broom just to see him get into a fight with it, but I know that wouldn’t be kind. Obviously to Yohio the broom is a real enemy.

Maybe Ziggy is just checking your bf out. Is he good for playing with? Any food to be had by him? Rabbit-nips are not at all always aggressive. They can be a way of saying “Pet me, dammit” or “Get me a snack NOW”.

No growling, but the attacks have stopped. I think maybe Ziggy thinks he’s put Jorge in his place. lol! I’m sure if he gets out of line Ziggy will let him know again. For now he’s seducing him with apple/fibre treats.

The way to a rabbit’s heart is through it’s stomach =)
