I give the girls their veggies at night before I go to bed.  They get romaine, a baby carrot, parsley or cilantro, and recently I’ve added celery.  When I started giving Nibbles veggies (months ago) she stopped drinking her water.  Vet said she was fine, she just gets all the water she needs from the veggies.  Still, I put fresh water out for her twice daily just in case. But it’s Maddie that I’m worried about.  She piddles everywhere.  It looks like someone popped a water balloon. I’m wondering if the water overload is causing her to have a weak bladder?  It’s been worse since I’ve added celery.  Do you think that has anything to do with it?  She seems fine otherwise, just a piddle machine.

Celery contains a lot of water, so her need to pee has probably increased. However, I wouldn’t take away the celery for that reason.

Instead, I would have her checked for UTI very soon at the vet’s. It is a painful condition, and one of the signs is actually when bunnies suddenly forget their litter habits and start peeing everywhere. Perhaps you could give her cranberry juice and fresh cranberries (here you can get fresh cranberries at the supermarket) and see if that might help (it should help within 3-4 days if it is a very mild bladder infection).

Are they bonded? If so, do you know for a fact it is only Maddie having accidents?

Are they both spayed and typically good with their litter habits? How does she seem health wise other than the pee accidents?

No, they’re not bonded yet.  I know it’s Maddie because it’s her side of the x pen where the flood is.

Nibbles’ litterbox habits are perfect.  She was a breeze to ‘train’.  Maddie has been having accidents since we brought her home.  She spent a good while in the shelter, plus bringing her home to another bunny and a cat would be enough to make me have accidents too…so I do cut her some slack.

She seems just fine otherwise.  I think she wishes that Nibbles would hurry up and be her buddy….but then again so do I!  But it just seems like the more veggies she gets the more she piddles.  And she LOVES veggies.  I could feed them to her 24/7 and she’d still scarf them down like they were going to be declared illegal at any given moment.  I noticed this morning that she didn’t eat any hay last night, so I think I’ll cut down on the veggies and see what happens.
