Eeyore’s rescue story: Once upon a time I was looking at bunnies on Craigslist. I saw an ad for two bunnies and clicked on it. It turned out that the buck was a neutered mini lop. There was also a doe, but by the time I contacted the owner, she had been sold. We drove for about an hour to pick him up, and when we got there the owner opened t…[Read more]
Eeyore: Eeyore is a Mini Lop buck. His birthday is sometime in March 2018. His previous owners were going to name him Sterling, but Eeyore is a much better name for a grumpy bunny who is grey with droopy ears. He loves attention and is the mellowest bunny in my family. He was also rescued, but he has a much different story than Bolt. I am…[Read more]
Bolt’s rescue story: One day, I took Shadoe with me to do a presentation about her. When I brought her carrier into one room, a little girl asked me if I would be interested in another bunny. It turns out, the bunny had been found by a neighbor and was offered to the girl’s family. He was so fast that they named him Bolt. I renamed him Thu…[Read more]
Bolt: Bolt is a Dutch buck. I don’t know when he was born because I rescued him. We celebrate his birthday on November 23. He has always been friendly and he loves being petted, but he HATES being picked up. He is bonded to Shadoe. I adopted him on May 8, 2018.
I adopted Eeyore at the end of November 2018. He likes to hide underneath his cage or in his bunny hut during the day and at night when I put the bunnies away for the night he sits in his litter box or on his blanket and wood stump. I think he is eating well, I give him a little more than a quarter cup of pellets a day and he gets unlimited hay…[Read more]

My bunnies like loose hay much more than cubes, I don’t know why. Sometimes if I am almost out of hay I will give them cubes but they don’t really eat very much of them. I think that is pretty interesting that most bunnies like them more in cubes.
By Eeyore, Shadoe, and Bolt the Bunnies: Our hoomins are the weirdest things on earth! Just today, one of them put us in a box on a thing with numbers and told us to stay still. We didn’t listen of course, and then they said some random numbers. And when we poop on the floor we get in trouble. What’s up with that? Also, getting fixed means tha…[Read more]
That is so sweet! I finally got Shadoe and Bolt bonded (after 5 months) and Bolt thinks he is in charge but I know who really is. Same situation, with a younger smaller female who is the main bunny. So cute to watch them play together.
I wish that I could have adopted my bunnies bonded! I got my first bunny in 2017 and then adopted/rescued two in 2018. Eeyore was fixed when I adopted him, but the others were not. I finally got Shadoe and Bolt bonded after 5 months. I was starting to think about taking them to a shelter (not to get rid of them) where they could bond them for me.…[Read more]
Sorry, I know this reply is kind of late! I got two of my three rabbits fixed at a vet recommended by the local rabbit shelter. Bolt was almost three, (approximately) and Shadoe was about one and a half. My sister and I actually raised money to get them fixed at a tractor show. I know how difficult it is not knowing if your pet is okay. I was…[Read more]
My mini lop who is 11 months old and my 3 year old Dutch had orange-ish urine for a while, and it did seem to be rather thick. I did not really worry about it because after looking it up I found this: “For obscure reasons (my rabbits all eat the same food, drink the same water and get the same treats) some get red urine, some don’t. Red urine (…[Read more]
You should probably start by either getting an exercise pen or setting one up around his cage, litter training him in there, then expand to a single room and eventually the whole house. If he likes using multiple corners in the house, put a litter box in each one and see which of them he uses the most often, then remove the others. Good luck!
