Well, mine is not fancy in terms of how crafty we got with building. Ours is an outdoor hutch that we use indoors – if you don’t want to include it, then don’t. I know that “hutch” rubs people the wrong way, so that’s why I’m always referring to it as his “house.” Regardless, it’s a very good size, and since it’s NOT being used outdoors, there’s nothing wrong with it. That being said, I’ll just go ahead and post pictures.

This was right after we completely finished assembling it, putting everything in it, and finally released him to go explore it.

Sorry for the darker image, it was night. This is an idea of how it looks to be inside on the bottom floor. You can see his hidey home, pet bed (no longer in there because he did not approve of it), and the ramp leading to the second floor.

Everything related to poop, pee, and food or water is all on the second floor because the plastic bottom is a MILLION times easier to clean than any messes that get on carpet or fabric. We kept it all in the front part of the top floor so that if he’s munching, pooping, or eating, he can see us and we can see him. The back room is more private and closed off, so we didn’t want him to have to go back there whenever he wanted to graze.

This gives you a decent idea of the top floor. You can see Java’s loving his new home. Lounging with his water bottle. And you can see the mess he had already made in the back.

Now this was rather expensive, but my grandma really took a liking to Java and wanted to get him a “nicer home.” Nothing was really wrong with his original x-pen, but she insisted on letting her treat him. Either way, we all agree that this is an awesome house for him. However, like I said, it was pretty pricey, and for 1/4 of the price you could easily build something just as nice from NIC cubes. Oh well, spoiled bunny!
