Oh yikes! Spider bites can cause some nasty swelling, but it’s those brown recluse spiders that scare me the most as they can have a nasty venom. My parents use to have those in their house (they live in the south where there is higher population of recluses) and they got an exterminator thank goodness. I remember I had gotten bit there and it began to swell, and we were pretty worried, but it turned out to be just a harmless spider bite.

This year, for us, hasn’t been too bad spider wise. Last year, though…WOW– Now here’s a creepy spider story for ya all: Steve and I were in the living room and all of a sudden I looked up at the ceiling (something had caught my eye), and I saw dozens and dozens of little baby spiders crawling on the ceiling spreading out, some of them coming down on their little webs. It was like some scary spider movie! Well, I’ve never moved so fast and I BOLTED out of the living room, just a big blur flying by!

I’m normally not too freaked out by spiders, but I will still escort them out of the house in a cup. The only spider I will actually allow to stay is a daddy-long leg spider. Those for some reason don’t freak me out and I will even hold them to get them out of places I don’t want them to be.
I think because they kill and eat other more pesty  spiders, I’m okay with them staying around. (The most eco-friendly pesticide you could ask for.) They are also pretty slow and very shy and are not the kind to be crawling all around the house like other spiders do except when they leave their web to go to the bathroom to get a drink from drips of water in the sink. .

Well, don’t know how I got so sucked up in my own spiders stories…

I ditto Mocha’s good wishes to you of “healing spider bite vibes”
