Thanks for your reply! So incase anyone is wondering my exotics told me they are fine to give together but work better when spread out.

Also things with Nellie have changed quite significantly since this post! She finally got a referral to a full exotics specialist hospital and the doctor was amazing! She had yet a third relapse a week ago today and was hospitalised with the specialist and now recovering at home. She was actually diagnosed with a historic spinal injury, presumed to be a pre-rescue breeding injury as well as having possible problems with intestine nerve functions and essentially what looked like a bit of a loose intestine, possibly from repeated bouts of stasis, likely from her spinal nerve pain!

So it looks like Nellie’s chronic gas and reccuring stasis issues may well have a root cause after all! We are also testing for E.C just incase. We are trialling gabapentin and a higher dose of meloxicom twice daily, she doesn’t half despise the syringe feeds and sulks vehemently for 30 mins + but overall she seems to be reacting quite nicely to these drugs. Fingers crossed this treatment works and we can help her live out her time with a bit more comfort.

The next task is to find a way to medicate her hands free, I’m on the hunt for apple pure.
