Yes… I guess I was trying to hope it was allergies because I was sick in March and I was sick in May and I was sick in June and I was also sick in September and I’m sick of being sick.

Those are safe to give to bunnies. Oxbow has done so sketchy stuff but I find most of their toys and treats to be safe.

Hopefully this is the right place to make this post. Anyway, I was looking at stuff to get the buns for Christmas and I was looking at some chew toys/treats from Oxbow (I’ll share pictures below) but I found out that Oxbow uses glue on these toy/treats so I don’t know if I should trust them or not. I gave it to them in the past and they were fine…[Read more]

It could also be that you picked up a cold from the people you saw on Friday? I would probably give it a few more days to see if it starts getting better on it’s own. With having the sore throat first it sounds more like a cold to me. My colds usually seem to start with a sore throat and then progress to sinus symptoms.

I understand! I don’t mean to discourage too much about bonding them to different bunnies, just want to make sure you are prepared! It would also probably be way easier logistically to focus on one bond at a time if you chose to go that route.

When your current buns are side by side (but separated by a barrier), how to they behave towards each…[Read more]

Okay so I think I’ll try bonding them next year probably? Both of them fought real bad when I tried the bonding stages in a neutral place and both of them are still on each other’s back,,,so I kinda lost hope to bond both of them together because one of my bunny used to be submissive then when those hormones kicked in,he started getting more…[Read more]

Hi Oreo’s Mom, this is a very old thread so I’m going to lock it to avoid confusion. Feel free to start a new thread to discuss your question though!

Pine is safe to use for things like hutches and toys as long as it’s not treated with any chemicals. Pine shavings aren’t safe because they have a lot of aromatic oils that get released, and since…[Read more]

haha! They certainly can be confusing little creatures. Rabbits can be very smell oriented, so perhaps something just smelled weird that day. Glad to hear they are back on track!

Sometimes bunnies poops will vary in size throughout the day. My rabbits tend to sleep most of the day, so they will have smaller poops in the afternoon because they haven’t been eating as much. Does that seem like what you’re seeing?

For the cecals, do you notice that she eats some but then leaves a few of the little pieces? Or does she leave a…[Read more]

Awww thanks for the update! That’s so sweet he’s starting to bond with you. Getting a companion for bunny bonding is great, and I think especially good for rabbits that might spend more time alone, but yes even if they are both males they will need to be neutered. Un-castrated bunnies will not get along because their hormones make them very…[Read more]

If he isn’t eating hay normally, you should keep up the critical care. Greens are mostly water so they don’t provide the nutrition the bun needs, but CC has things to help get the gut functioning normally. It does sound like the first antibiotic threw off the balance in the gut. I think trying a probiotic could help if you haven’t already. I also…[Read more]

I’m not sure what hay has fuzzy seed plants in it either. I would try getting the hay you normally use and stop using this hay to see if it is allergies.

The hay I used before was a ‘clover, timothy hay, orchard grass, and fescue mix’ according to the farmer. I have no clue what the new hay is, but I see some fuzzy seed plants… I don’t know that that is.

What hay do you normally give them? People with hay allergies typically react to timothy more than orchard hay. So that might be that case, it would be odd if you were sick because it gets worse around the hay but it is always a possibility.

Glad to hear you guys are doing good. Rabbits love to have friends, but they would need to be spayed/neutered.

Friday I was around 2 people for several hours who were coughing and sniffling all over me. Sunday I found mystery hay by the side of the road in great condition, my dad gave the buns some and I messed with it, stirred it around. Within 1 or 2 hrs. I got a sore throat. I don’t have a sore throat anymore but I am congested, and it gets worse when I…[Read more]

Untreated or pine that has not gone through a certain drying process is not recommended for rabbits to chew on. I looked on their website and it is untreated pine, but that doesn’t mean that bunnies can’t use it. I would just take it out if they are eating an unsafe amount. Facebook marketplace might have one for less money. Also on etsy, there…[Read more]
