Dorian had a huge scare not that long ago. Initially I thought he was just charging in doing a zoomie which he will do occasionally around that time, but if that is what it was some where in his crash into everything flight path he got extremely terrified, ran into his room and would not stop thumping. I had to scoop him into my lap where he just…[Read more]

I wanted to give advice on the brushing, nail clipping, and teeth! I suggest finding a rabbit savvy vet nearby you and schedule a wellness check if you are concerned about his teeth and ask them to also show you how to clip his nails! Some vets will help with the nails for free or sometimes you can go to a bunny shelter to get help! As for…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Dose this position look like he's in pain? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 5 months ago
Unless it’s something extreme, a picture and/or brief description is not enough information for anyone to make determinations on whether a rabbit is in pain. You should consider behavioral signs, such as flinching, inappetite, lack of energy, reluctance to not be hunched, teeth grinding…. See here for one list of general symptoms that may let an…[Read more]

Rabbit syphilis can be contracted at birth and can remain asymptomatic for literally years before it shows symptoms, so him not being around other rabbits does not necessarily rule out atypical syphilis.
I’d be curious in how it was “treated” before — if the skin irritation/sore is the result of weepy eye, some assessment may be needed to…[Read more]

She hasn’t been eating much today. I only saw her eat a piece of hay between 4-730. She’s not feeling well today at all. I’ve tried sticking it in to get her to chew but havent been able to find the sweet spot but I’m going to for sure try the filling a smaller syringe from the big one! I requested another appointment with the vet because of her…[Read more]

The skin was looking healthy for the most part apart from dry flakes here and there, but over the past week has progressed so much and now there’s dry patches on 4 or 5 areas on top of her right ear and neck. The MiconaHex + Triz is anti-bacteria, anti-fungal, and anti-biofilm. Her vet prescribed it just in case it was ringworm, as she said “I’ve…[Read more]

Mila was prescribed Otomax because of it’s anti-bacterial properties. The vet didn’t have an exact diagnosis for her at the time, so she prescribed it just in case! Mila didn’t and still doesn’t have any swelling, but her ears have recently looked a little more irritated.
Revolution was applied on February 9th by her vet. Her vet was going out of…[Read more]

So his diet is free feed 2nd cutting Timothy hay with 3rd cutting mixed in, and then at bed time he gets salad (mostly spinach) with a side of Tropical Carnival rabbit mix which he did eat all up this morning. And then he gets an oxbow cookie in the morning and at bed time. He has been very enthusiastic about his treats and salad, and today he’s…[Read more]

Thanks. They really want to hang out and it’s driving me a bit crazy. Dorian just loiters about her pen and she stomps if he wanders off. They just had lunch next to each other which was adorable. I am so glad she has her appetite back!
Oh and I let her into Dorian’s free roam space for her exercise time, she went a little crazy… zoomies,…[Read more]

haha! You sound like me!
Even though they are doing great, I wouldn’t do a session yet. Not so much because I think it will go badly, but because you’ve barely had Lillian home for a week. Giving her a bit more settling in time will make sure that her true personality is showing up during bonding sessions, so you don’t end up with a hierarchy…[Read more]

Hmmm, can you try offering him some favorite foods to see if he takes those? Maybe not treats, but a big helping of wet salad with some favorite herbs? Sometimes buns will get a bit dehydrated and it contributes to some slight slowing. Continuing to push hay will help too.
What’s his diet in general?
