It is very slippery. I used vinyl flooring for my cube cage so they would be waterproof but then also had to cover it with fleece that I secured down so that it wouldn’t be slippery. The fleece can’t be loose on the vinyl or that slips around too.

hello! do any of you have vinyl linoleum flooring in your rabbit’s room? if so, is it easy for them to walk/run on or do they slip on it? my rabbit has completely destroyed the carpet in my room so i was thinking about getting some linoleum flooring instead but i dont want her to slip and get hurt on it or not be able to run well.

I will try. I am just worried about Dorian’s somewhat dramatic reactions (not eating), and Miu can hold a grudge as well so erring on side of caution They both been bouncy happy little destructobuns today and engaging a lot with each other through the fence, so we will see how it goes!

Thank you for helping your friend!
So, I think if there is any chance your friend will take her bun back, then you should not bond them. Separating a bonded group is very stressful for the rabbits and the solo rabbit especially could become very depressed. Not to mention bonding is a ton of work, so it would be awful to do all of that and end up…[Read more]

I am wondering if it might be good in the long run to try to push past this nippy phase. I would just keep interrupting the circling and chasing. If possible, try to get them to stop with a loud noise first (such as loud clap), rather than immediately getting between them. Of course you’ll be right there in case it doesn’t work, but the idea is to…[Read more]

Can you describe her full diet in detail? Does she get pellets or greens, and how much? And have you consulted a vet on this? Sorry for all the questions! Just trying to get a sense of potential causes.. It is encouraging that she got a bit better with eating more hay
Going hay-only is often a first step for cecal dysbiosis, but it’s important to…[Read more]

My rabbit has very bad cecal dysbiosis but it is currently well controlled. Here are my suggestions.
Start by going to an all hay diet for a minimum of 2 weeks. You do have to watch your bunny closely during this time since she isn’t a great hay eater to make sure that she is eating enough. You can also purchase pellets that are made of 100% hay…[Read more]

they tend to start calm and just explore the area, then when comfy start playing… and then she demands grooms (I am guessing she is like well since we are playing we should figure this out) and it escalates from there. In the beginning I could do way longer sessions (had one over an hour), but now it’s all sped up. She will then just become more…[Read more]

I use a baby comb for my Lionhead and Jersey Wooly and just cut out mats. 😛

Hello. My 1.5yr old holland lop Sage has been having a lot of soft stool since December. In December I moved so I thought maybe it was due to stress and would fix itself. She has some regularly formed stool, but a lot of soft stool as well. She acts normal otherwise. From doing research I am guessing she has cecal dysbiosis. She wasn’t a big hay…[Read more]

Hello!
Looks like I’m becoming a regular here! I was hoping for some preemptive advice on a matter of multiple bunnies. I’ve had my boy, Gideon, for about a month now, and just last week I adopted another bun — a girl named Tess. Just yesterday, a close friend of mine (whose bunny I’ve cared for many times now) had an emergency and will need…[Read more]

Hmm that’s tough. I agree with Bam, that I think offering more favorite greens would be a good step before syringe feeding. Or perhaps you can mix some CC with some banana to entice him to eat a bit (not sure if he’s a fan of mush, some buns are).

That little nip from Miu was not too bad! In my mind, aggression is when right out of the bat they just attack each other. Or any approach of the other rabbit leads to fur pulling, circling, fighting, etc.
You could try to disguise the space a bit, rather than going someplace completely new. Some people have luck at putting a tarp or shower…[Read more]

Are they bonded yet?
A lot of times things wont improve fully until they are completely bonded, and sometimes even a few weeks after that. With mine it’s usually been a gradual improvement once they were bonded and living in their final home. Sometimes there is an uptick in marking right AFTER they are bonded, as though they are marking their new…[Read more]

If the squealing doesn’t work (it doesn’t always work with my Cooper either), then redirecting is the best option. One thing with bunnies is that if you move around in front of their face or under their nose, it can trigger biting. And a hand on the head can be seen as grooming, so could be interpretted by the bun as a reward. So I usually use a…[Read more]

Thanks for the response! She seems pretty random with when and where she potties — I’ve put litterboxes in every place that she seems to have a “collection” going, but there are random droppings here and there in every spot in her cage. She’s happy to sit in her litterbox and munch on her hay, and unless she’s free roaming she’ll hop in the box…[Read more]

I’ve got a house full of March hares right now! Everyone has gone mad!
LOL I exaggerate, but yes there are some behavior changes. Bun Jovi has been honking and mounting Myra again, Myra has been trying to destroy the couch again, and Cooper is just being EXTRA.
You will also likely see some molting happening! But I agree with Wick, there…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Taking my rabbit in a stroller? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 5 months ago
I know someone who would use a stroller to take one of her buns to visit a senior center as a therapy bun. He was super relaxed and would lounge in it. So I think it’s really rabbit dependent.
It does look like he’s not too stressed, but if you notice he seems exhausted after, he may not be enjoying it as much as you’d hoped. There is such a…[Read more]
