It’s great to read that you’ve decided to open your family to two adorable rabbits! You are correct — baby bonds are not enduring and will change at the flip of a coin once one of them starts being influenced by developing hormones.
I want to also point out that it is very possible one of them is actually a male. Sexing baby rabbits is…[Read more]

Hi guys!
First of all, I’m new, so hi 🙂 I mostly came here to ask about what I should do about my two baby bunnies.
In about two weeks I’m getting 2 bunnies, my first. I‘ve done a lot of research and was only planning to get one(for now), but the second one was unplanned and I couldn’t pass her up. The deed is now done and now I’m inquiring…[Read more]

Beau Bunny replied to the topic Garden exercise pen covers- ideas? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 5 months ago
Nothing too permanent as I will have to take it down to mow and probably move it around the yard depending on where I’m working. I also want something tall enough I can walk in as the pen has a little gate and I use outside play time to also allow my daughter to feed and pet him under supervision. I found a pop up party tent on wish for 34 bucks…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic "hardened" fur in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 5 months ago
I agree with Beau that if the fluid from the eye seems like a concerning amount (I would say more than what you’d expect from a human who wakes up every day with those sleep crusties), then a vet assessment can be very beneficial.
A warm, damp towel to help loosen it is fine, especially if it’s something your rabbit cannot get himself. Other than…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Any experiences with Griseofulvin Suspension? (antifugal/antibiotic) in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 5 months ago
No experience unfortunately. You’ve read my post re: Wick’s ringworm, so I am only familiar with itraconazole oral medication for fungal treatment. I concur with what you found, which is that this is safe for use with rabbits and it is considered the “best treatment” for fungal infections, according to Medirabbit. …. I’m curious about the clause…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Ideas for obsessive litter box chewing and digging in cage corner in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 5 months ago
Does he tend to get into “funks” where he’s relentless about the chewing and digging?
With Fable (also rescued from a heavily confined home), she gets into funks of chewing on… everything. And digging in very specific spots. In addition to what everyone has said with laying wood and other chewable stuff in the hot spots, I found just playing…[Read more]

Don’t be surprised if he starts spraying as well…. at you. Keep your mouth closed, haha. You may also see the ceremonious binky + spray combo, where urine flies everywhere as the rabbit twists in the air!
Again, as stated above, nothing against you or your family. He is doing what his hormones are telling him to do, which is spread his scent.

It’s great to hear you’ll be getting teeth checked. Teeth problems cause a lot of hay-eating problems for so many rabbits, in addition to unattractive hay types, batches, etc…. if only the rabbits could tell us!
Rounding back to your original question, I will say that I believe rabbits can still binky if they are uncomfortable. This comes from…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Neutered Rabbit Showing Hormonal Behavior in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 5 months ago
I agree that a vet visit would be the best avenue you can take — many things can cause the appearance of reemerging hormonal behavior.
Have there been any changes recently? Anything that may cause increased frustration or territorialness on his part? One thing I can imagine is if you’re home more. I know my Wick has become more destructive,…[Read more]

pinkiemarie replied to the topic PLEASE HELP Bonding 3 bunnies in the forum BONDING 6 years, 5 months ago
I’m also bonding a trio and I do think it’s more difficult than a pair. My first two buns were one of those rare love at first site pairings so I didn’t know it was going to be so difficult. Not saying that to discourage you, just to set the expectation that it’s probably going to take longer than you thought. Since my first rabbits bonded…[Read more]

Try applying a warm (not too warm!) compress to soften the gunk. If it’s green or yellow and the eye looks red or irritated, take him to a vet. I hear blocked ducts is quiet common in bunnies and requires vet care.

Hi BlueMuffins! Welcome to the forum 🙂
We ask that members do not reply to old posts (this thread is a couple years old now) to avoid confusion. If you’d like some advice on your bunny, please start a new thread.
I’m going to close this thread now.

Rabbits are so fragile if you explain the situation and your vet is pretty experienced with rabbits they’ll probably make time to see her! They can just go down hill so fast and hopefully they accommodate that!
