Hi DanaNM, a huge thanks for your reply!!
Yes, these vets are the only one around for rabbits really. They are often recommended by other vets that have less rabbit experience.
I brought him to her at 4 months. She did say that he’s still a baby and his testicles haven’t even dropped yet. I did think 5-6 months seems a long wait and is why I…[Read more]

Hi Theodorusrex, welcome back! 🙂
I agree, sounds like he’s having trouble eating hay and turning to the poo because it’s easier to chew. Good luck at the vet, I hope it’s an easy fix. Keep us updated!

Jaafar started the topic Can you feed edamame bean shells to rabbits? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Hi!
We eat alot of edamame beans and so I was wondering if the shells would make a fun little treat for our rabbits. I know that beans in general aren’t that suitable for rabbits but the shells are much more fiberous and has much less sugar, so it got me wondering.
Thx!

My current bunny (indoor) lives in a hutch that takes up about 3/5 of a room. Because we don’t have work or school right now, we can let her out of the cage for say 10 hours a day so she can wander around the house, and sit around on our enclosed porch for a couple hours a day. We want to make 2 separate hutches located right next to each other…[Read more]

I also share the same curiosity with Dana, in that your vet mentioned two things I would not typically expect. One is that neutering males should wait until 5-6 months, and second is that neutering will not improve the behaviors you mentioned.
For the former, perhaps it’s something on the vet’s end where he/she/they are not personally comfortable…[Read more]

Yeah, I don’t want to ruin my parents vacuum because I’m trying to get that one piece of hay😂 If all goes well my camera roll will be only bunny pictures.😂 It’s already mostly doggo pictures. I’ll definitely post some on the forum.😁

You’re welcome! 🙂 You can repay us with lots of bunny pictures! 😀
Shop Vacs are great, all those bits and pieces of hay can get troublesome for a regular vacuum.

It’s too bad Theo is being such a pain. Hopefully he’ll cooperate tonight. 😬 Maybe you can try to lure him in with treats into his carrier and then somehow transfer him from there to the Rubbermaid once you get in the car? Best of luck!

I’m also looking into a Shop Vac which I’ve seen 101Rabbits use and it does really seem to help her with cleaning up poop and hay😂 I think I might get a Shop Vac Mini off of Amazon it’s about $35. I forgot to add that on to the list with the veggie fridge.

Good on you for doing tons of research! 🙂
When you bring this up with your parents, you will naturally try to make the idea of getting a rabbit sound as appealing as possible to them. While this might make it easier for you to get them to agree, it’s important not to leave out any of the negative aspects of bunny ownership. It will show your…[Read more]
